Re: Metcalf Redevelopment
The Vision Metcalf plan is not just retail; in fact it is not a plan for development only a guideline that will be followed to direct future building along the corridor. It is not something being built in the next few years but over several decades. To me the plan (if followed and expanded county wi...

Re: Corbin Park (135th and Metcalf)
If this upscale cinema can make profit on only forty seats per screen, they may be able to do this in KC. I would not be a regular customer, maybe once or twice, but I know a lot of people that would. This may appeal to wealthier boomers and aging genXers. If the New Theater could have existed as ...

Your photos are great Midtown
I have not been there (WeHo) in several years. I was there at the 2002 LA Pride, had a very memorable time. I need to go back. My friends in LA all moved to San Diego so I seldom get to LA when I visit.

Re: Olathe and 3 closed Italian eateries
I went to Bed Bath and Beyond down at 119th and Metcalf this weekend to spend a gift card. The whole 119th Street corridor is starting to look like Bannister with the vacant Comp USA, also I noticed now the La z Boy furniture gallery is out of business. The time of 119th St being KC's premier retai...

Re: Which Shopping Center are you look forward to going to in Johnson County?
I am looking forward to Corbin Park at 135th and Metcalf. I think the one KCMetro is talking about. I also am anxious to see Oak Park after the renovations. The finished product of One Nineteen and Leawood's Park Place will be nice to see also. Not started yet, Lenexa's Falls At Prairie Star and...

Gee, if you went west from DTFW about three miles near the museums on W. 7th you could have seen my condo building under construction.GRID wrote:

I keep my visiting family here, when three days are up, I roll it away. Be sure to have it on an incline though.

Schlitterbahn May Start Construction Next Month
The long awaited ground breaking may start next month. The Wyandotte UG gave preliminary approval last night on the project. This is including two 10 story hotel towers. Nice to see it start to happen. :P http://www.bonnersprings.com/news/2008/jun/05/wyco_commissioners_approve_preliminary_schlitter...

Re: Metcalf Redevelopment
Even though Denver's Alberta Development backed out of the planned renovation, I am sure that in time there will be some sort of redevelopment with Metcalf South. I would not be surprised if Macy's eventually will move from the development. And Sears, I am surpised they are still there near the KMa...

Re: Leawood's Park Place development
I had dinner last night with a friend of mine from TX that was in town working with some of the local chamber of commerces in JOCO and Lawrence. He was given a whirlwind tour of several of the new projects in Leawood (One Nineteen, Menorah, Park Place, and even Corbin Park (although it is in OPK). ...

It seems that Morgan Stanley predicts $150.00 a barrell oil by July 4th causing crude to jump today, and the day's not over yet!
I may need to move my horses in town.

I am sure that the City of Overland Park and many developers are salivating like one of Pavlov's dogs.

Re: Olathe and 3 closed Italian eateries
It seem that there has been a lot of problems with businesses that located on Strang Line Rd. I think that the freeway visibility never matched the accessability of the location. Strang Line is almost (as far as commercial traffic goes) a dead end street. As you go south you can either go on the ...
