Re: Bike Lanes

It's not about infrastructure, unfortunately. Definitely. Is this all driven by Robinson? Does anyone know what exactly she wants? I assume not or it would have been sorted by now. She wants a different City Manager because the current one is not the correct ethnicity in her mind. And she's gone ma...

Re: 1650 Broadway

Very underwhelming. Hopefully the design is a work in progress placeholder. It looks like it's a dusted off design from a decade ago or earlier. Also, very un-urban. No active street frontage. Looks more Corporate Woods than Crossroads. It's one gigantic car drop off / garage entrance fronting the c...

Re: Capping the Loop

Here is the south loop cap area with Ilus Davis Park superimposed below it at the same scale, for reference. Honestly, both Baltimore and Walnut would need to be closed or this will feel like four tiny parklets. If they can keep Grand open at all times I think it could work. https://i.ibb.co/kgD7DKq...

Re: 1822 Main Redevlopment

1914 Main one block south has garage access via alley only. Works great when the restaurant deliveries or a U-Haul didn't park in it. Rarely was it blocked on both ends.

Re: NE Corner of 14th & Wyandotte (300 unit apartment)

Here are some examples they should strive for on this corner: Something that contrasts yet compliments with a minimal amount of replication. Something that is tall yet also visually short. Something with a decorative 'hat' that draws visual attention but doesn't draw away from P&L's illuminated ...

1. It needs to be broken up some. Right now, this thing is a wall. 2. It needs a crown of some sort. Its prominence on then skyline (at 384ft) will make it very noticeable, especially from the west. It can't just be a dark mass on the skyline at night. Disagree with those points. 1. I would argue t...

Re: The KC City Flag

I am really curious what this is going to look like in real life now. The images on KCUR and other media so far have shown a lighter shade of blue. But the All Nations rendering shows a more standard navy blue, which I think I like better. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FpCzG-tXwAQCAcC?format=jpg http...

Unfortunately, it appears they dropped the 2500 sf of commercial space which activated the corner and instead opted for an oppressive blank wall.

Re: The KC City Flag

The fountain heart symbol is all over the city website. I've seen it on manhole covers, and I'm sure it's on city letterhead and elsewhere. The same could be said of the municipal "paperclip" logo when it was replaced / updated by the fountain heart. It's time to refresh that tired logo a...
