Re: e-Scooter Share

Whoa, is the debate about e-scooters on sidewalks vs street/bike lanes? Having 2 kids and living thru the razor scooter craze (downtown with them) sidewalks would be a nightmare. I thought we were talking bikelane only vs street and was going to say KC doesn’t have enough bike lanes for that to be r...

Re: Downtown Buildings with Activity

It’s a vacant lot but I think this fits best here...does anyone know what’s happening in the small field across from 910 Penn (9th and Pennsylvania across from State Street). There has been surveying going on and now there’s a big truck that looks like it’s taking soil core samples or something. See...

He had beef with Toms Town serving wine and Sundry selling packaged beer as a grocery though. Something must have changed because Sundry has a bar now.

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

Sounds confusing. I can see it working if they put out one or two solid dishes for each ethnicity that compliment each other rather than a page of dishes from each. Naan, basmati and tandoori chicken with fajitas or Korea bbq....? Could work.

Re: Fixing p&l traffic backups

I believe the highway signs on northbound I-35 directs “Sprint Center traffic” to use the 14th St exit rather than Broadway (which would include Truman) or 12th Street. Just an FYI for the discussion. People coming from the south, that’s the option they’re told.

Re: KC in TV and Movies

I haven't seen the show yet, but after seeing these pics why couldn't they focus on a house that REALLY needed some work put into it? From the outside, this one doesn't appear all that bad in the grand scheme of things. It was split into a tri-plex and they brought it back to a single family. Only ...

Re: KC in TV and Movies

Ya, I agree. As I watched te 3rd episode I started feeling swamped in Loose Park and the Plaza. They did have a nice drone shot of Jansen Place though. Another house redone with the same white tile/quartz and glass aesthetic throughout as the others. She did showcase a couple local businesses which...

Re: KC in TV and Movies

I watched the first couple episodes of Bargain Mansions. Pretty standard DIY format and show. I really like the KC aspect of the show. The first house (episode 1&2) looked like it was in Leawood and the second house is in Hyde Park. They are doing a good job with establishing shots of KC, drivin...

Re: Downtown Tanners closing?

Ugh. I was afraid that was going to be the situation. Thanks for the info. Went by this morning and there were a few tables sat in the windows of the bistro about 11am. I haven’t been in.

I was hoping this would be more in the Phoenix, Green Lady, Majestic vibe than a night club vibe.

Re: Downtown Tanners closing?

Haven't been wanded to go into a bar in like a decade. It didn't make me feel safer. Getting wanded certainly sets a tone and expectation before even going into a place. That makes me much less likely to check it out even though it is near home. Is the security a result of the suburban management n...

Re: The Standard Pour

Does anyone know anything about the new owner? The article has a very long explanation of the name but only says the new owner has 17 years in the industry but not where or in what capacity. Also not much about what the new place will be like other than cocktails and a few menu changes. I had a coup...

Found this on Reddit. Must be a slow day at espn to post this article, no new NHL info as far as I saw in my read/scan of the article but thought I'd share considering it is espn talking NHL in KC

Good topic.

Anton's back area. In NKC Chicken and Pickle usually has a few dogs around, pretty sure the o breweries in NKC are cool with dogs on their patios (cinder block, calibration and big rip)

Anyone had the Snack Shack in old OP? They got some press recently about their burger. I keep meaning to try it, but I haven't yet. I like Snack Shack, wouldn't say it's worth an excursion out of your way, but it's a good neighborhood joint similar to Town Topic with a family owned vibe. Competent ...

An unnamed KCMO company is looking to receive EEZ tax credits to move to either 12 Wyandotte Plaza or Crown Center... See link for more details I'm assuming these things operate with code names - this one is called 'Project Park - as I've never heard of a company with that name. These are the detai...

Re: OFFICIAL - Lightwell (formerly City Center Square)

Found an article on Sungevity. People let go that were interviewed sound pretty disgruntled which I suppose is understandable. Office topped out at 150 people, 30 left after the layoffs.
