Re: Capping the Loop
Surely Cordish can help out, but this would benefit everyone, not just Cordish though it would sit at the front door of their (our) investment. Cordish has already agreed to make a very large contribution, but would need help from the city. In return for the investment, I believe cordish would want...

Re: OFFICIAL - Grand Place (former KC Star building)
I talked to the owner of Brick River a while back. He said they looked at this space but they wanted them to sign a lease for way too much square footage. They passed and took over the Tapcade space which still seems large.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I'm not sure how exactly but team should have noted in a better way that the stadium design itself is just a placeholder/concept to show location and district design - it says it directly under the renderings. Note to all the Facebookers and Reddit people yelling about the loss of "CrownVision...

Re: Grand Blvd Closures
Why, is a private entity closing public streets?? Without input, or approval from the public? This is absurd. Can we at least close more of downtown while we're at it? It is pretty clear…because Cordish is allowed to do it by the city. They obviously do it to prevent “violence” or “undesirable beha...

Depends on who you are I suppose. I find yardhouse relatively family friendly but don’t think everyone would. It’s a beer place but does have that familiar bar/restaurant chain feel to it.

Yeah I'm hoping for way more variety as well. A more adult Live! even and then some services. I struggle to be able to grasp in my mind how it's going to work and be different. I’m curious to see who the Royals target with their village. Kaufman seems to cater pretty hard to kids/families. This may...

Barriers are up in the street on Broadway and 10th and clean out of the building has started. There’s a big dumpster on 10th quickly filling up.

I also blame the police for being ineffective. I don’t blame Cordiah for taking advantage of the situation but think the problem should be addressed rather than moved away from PnL. What happened to the pucks in the street? I think a lot of them got plowed up in winter but I also remember reading th...

Re: My 7 yr old son's first Chief's game - tickets?
I’d recommend getting tickets in the lower bowl as well. I’ve had drastically different neighbors at games based on where I was in the stadium. I’ve only gone to an average of 1 game per year so very small sample size.

It took a couple years after cutting down the dead trees but they’ve planted some new one in Quality Hill. They’re even watering them which is good to see. Hopefully the same will happen on 8th.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I like the Paul Allen clause. The mid-size market argument just makes me think of Mario Lemieux visiting the new Sprint Center. Everyone in the world knew it was a play to get money out of Pittsburgh. And it worked. I guess I don’t have an emotional bond to sports teams to care. The Royals can go to...

Do you feel this way about all development incentives? No. I’m not a developer and certainly not tax expert. My knowledge on the subject mostly has come from reading posts here. I usually support tax abatements and TIF situations. Even a user fee like the airport seems appropriate. I don’t feel tax...

[rimg][/rimg] I don’t want the stadium at all, quit giving tax money to loosing sports teams. I'm curious about comments like this. If it was proven to you that money spent on stadiums can generate more money than spent, would you still disagree with it? Is it an ideological point of view or do you ...

They want to extend the TIF so they can focus on the expansion of their workforce when they just laid off part of their KC workforce a week ago? Hard to make that argument with a straight face.

Re: Seiden's Furs Appears to Be Closing
Reddit is saying there's a demolition permit placed on the building. Searching Compass I didn't find anything from the past few years. Anybody have some free time to go verify? It’s sort of true? I read it more as a final notice from the city to the owner that the city will demolish it because the ...

What is the likelihood that this going to happen? Seems like a lot of planning and money for a movie theater, arena/concert venue and a top golf knockoff.

News said a 1/2 cent Clay tax is close to 50% of a 3/8ths Jackson Tax. When were were analyzing a regional sales tax for transit in 2021, 1% got you... $121,190,903 in Jackson County $43,608,890 in Clay County The news was fake ig News seems right. Dave gave 1% numbers. It’s possible something else is in the works but Strata is dead Rebranding as “Biscuits and Gravy” or “Grandslam Breakfast.” Sorry…Friday happy hour beer-driven response. I agree with WoodDraw other than the rolling roof failing previously being an accurate bellwether for a vote in the near future. Wasn’t it Trent Green era Chiefs last time around? Make the playoffs in a good year and lose first round? The city is ready to approve anything for the Chiefs in the Mahom...
