Re: We are getting a new airport!!!
Totally agree. Their closed on Sunday policy, traditionally a busy travel day, alone is reason to exclude them. How about a Stroud’s?

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)
Could be because it’s the peak of the fall bird migration & they don’t want to confuse the birds. Major problems with birds striking high rises at this time.

I didn’t realize B & B was already putting their name on the Mainstreet Theatre. Anyone remember when they are slated to open-might rent it out for a “Dune” watch party! The new movie is supposed to come out in October.

Re: Future Stadium Plans: Chiefs and Royals
I think fans will learn that if they want to use the streetcar to and from a game at a downtown stadium they will need to go early & stay late. An eastbound streetcar or light rail line going by the stadium site would help to spread the crowd out a bit. Most fans will probably be driving downtow...

Re: OFFICIAL - The Continental Apartments (former Mark Twain Tower)
Great article in the The KC Star today in the “What’s Your KC Q?” Series about the EBT/UMB building site history. What a major historical loss for the city. And what an example of the ongoing “parking lot sickness” that continues to this day (example the block north of the T Mobile Center, Grand to ...

Re: OFFICIAL - The Continental Apartments (former Mark Twain Tower)
Great pics. Would love to see UMB follow up on their original plan for a 14 floor tower above their offices. A real shame that they were allowed to demolish the historic Emery, Bird, Thayer building for a half finished as promised building.

Re: Capping the Loop
Keep Walnut open & incorporate a landscaped pedestrian overpass with appropriate safety guards. Not sure how that would work as I’m not an engineer, but I’m sure there are professionals to figure it out.

Sure hope the rumor is true. Redeveloping that property could tie together the East Crossroads apartments and spur development of the empty lots to the north & northwest of the building.

Re: Jamestown Square - W39th St
This is a great infill project but I too would like the six-plex saved. It’s a great transition property from the proposed multi-family project to the mainly single family residences in the area. I’ve walked by/parked in front of this property many times over the years and it’s always looked well ma...

Re: Do you have or plan to get Google Fiber?
We switched from Google Fiber for YouTubeTV for tv service and just keep Google Fiber for internet. All told saving about $75 a month and now very comfortable with the tv streaming service (YouTubeTV owned by Google too). We did pay a little extra for the Entertainment packega (have to have my HBO, ...

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!
I’d like to see a distinctive fountain of some kind at the entrance of the single terminal as well. I know there’s already a fountain/art piece on the entrance road into the airport but something right at the terminal entrance that functions year-round would be nice. Maybe someone/family with major ...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC
If there is a major infrastructure bill that passes, it would seem to be a good opportunity to get the streetcar across the MO River. The NKC route could serve the same purpose as the original River Market to US segment to provide a spine for future northward extension, though probably quite a bit f...

Re: KC Zoo 2020
That’s great! Where was it? At one time otters were almost trapped to extinction. They’ve made an amazing comeback. The new aquarium at the KC Zoo is supposed to include sea otters (I think from the West Coast). That’s according to comments by the zoo director when speaking about the aquarium.

Re: KC Zoo 2020
Those are native North American otters, not seals. The zoo just introduced a new male to the two females, so maybe baby otters in the future? Like most attractions, the zoo has had a rough year for revenue, having been closed for an extended time and now limiting visitors. Good for you for going and...
