Re: Chiefs

Well... It's entertainment And if you get to the Super Bowl winning without many touchdowns, you will probably be screwed because the other team is usually near the best or second best in the NFL, and can/will make touchdowns. If you get to the Super Bowl without many touchdowns, it's because you'v...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So how did everyone's Royals team do vs. their predictions?  Vegas said 66 wins.  They had 69.  Py-thag data (runs scored vs. runs allowed) says they should've won 74. I don't really feel like digging up my old posts, but if memory serves I had expected 72-75 wins but held out hope for .500 based o...

Re: anyone see 'the office' last night?

Ryan has basically taken on all the David Brent traits that they didn't give to Michael.  Especially the self-assured smugness.  He's pretty funny, but I actually like him less now.  I thought he was funnier when he was just a sarcastic little douche bag sitting back in the corner.  His relationship...

Re: Chiefs

AFC West is weak this year, I think all 4 teams have a legitamate chance to win the division. I don't think it's quite as wide open as that.  I suspect that as the season wears on, San Diego will remember that it's essentially the same team that won 14 games last season and start to open a lead.  T...

Re: Chiefs

Great defensive performance...until they gave up 180 yards and ten points in the final three Bengals possessions.  Held on for the win, but that game was much closer than it ever should have been.  And LJ cracked 100 yards, but of his 31 carries, 12 were for no gain or a loss (to say nothing of his ...

Who cares?  Now Buddy can go fuck up someone else's team -- moreover, a division rival.  This is great news.

Don't worry about 10 year olds crying.  It could be worse.  We could have the Yankees and our radio people would cry on the air.

I feel that it's worth pointing out that the Indians, operating with a lower budget than the Royals, just eliminated the Yankees in four games.

Re: Chiefs

Apparently you don't know what you are talking about. Look at the stats and we are about where we have been almost every week. Our problem is the Offense Larry rushing for 12 yards and bowe not touching the ball. AND HUARD IS HURT OMG I know that at the time I wrote that post, the Jaguars had drive...

What the hell has happened to this defense?  After they finally started looking like a solid unit, they're looking more like the Vermeil days again now.

Re: Chiefs

I know the Chargers are having some problems, but that was just shocking.  Pleasantly so, though.  The offense the last couple weeks has actually performed better than I expected.  Still not great, of course.  They had a good game today, but I think (without checking the stats to make sure) they're ...

Re: Dollar sinks to all-time low against the Euro

It would be nice to have a worldwide standard of currency. The Europeans already have a standard for the whole of Europe. If this standard could be extended or linked to the dollar to provide a more stable currency through the world, there would be hardly any fluctuations in currency. Yes I know th...

• It's ok to throw the ball, too!  Wow, what a concept! Yeah, but if anyone thinks this was a major revelation to Herm, they're crazy.  The Chiefs started throwing because they were trailing and they weren't going anywhere on the ground.  Next week, unless they find themselves in a hole (I guess I ...

Re: Kansas City as an NHL Expansion site?

If the renovation crowd continued to bleat on and on about the value of sports to a city's "image"....where are they now, to discuss "image" given by such disasters?  It has to cut both ways. I don't know that people necessarily associate the performance of a city's teams with t...

Not sure what's worse, the paper or all the people who want to censor it just because they don't like it.  Personally, I didn't really find that sample article that offensive.  I can see where it would offend people, but it was just so stupid and so poorly written... Re: Who do you want the next Royals manager to be??

Joe Girardi didn't want the Brewers managing job so why would he want to come here? Girardi is looking for a team that is already winning like the Cubs or the Yankees. Girardi would actually supposedly be interested in managing the Royals.  As Jayson Stark posted in his Rumblings and Grumblings col...
