Re: Crowne Plaza Hotel Grand Opening after Remodel
Upon reading responses on Yelp, the hotel is preparing for another extensive renovation. Hopefully they freshen up some of the aesthetics on the outside! More renovation work is soon to occur https://compasskc.kcmo.org/EnerGov_Prod/SelfService#/permit/06dad0d5-fcb9-466a-bb55-fab6863eae7c?tab=locati...

Re: Bike Lanes
Grid I wouldn’t have been surprised if they had painted the lanes and left things be.
Long term, I would like to see Jersey barriers where the bike tracks intersect with high traffic roads. Of course, I think Grand could use a cycle track too

Re: Home prices across KC neighborhoods
Thanks for bringing that perspective up. It is not something that I have thought of before. Assuming a $1500 per month payment, 30 years. November 2018 4.87% interest = $355,000 house December 2020 2.68% = $464,000 So the drop in interest rates nets you 30% more house "for free." I used Ba...

How far north is this going when it's all done? mcGee Work will begin on May 3, 2021 to continue the on-street cycle track north from Linwood to McGee Trafficway. We anticipate the project to take two weeks, weather permitting. https://www.kcmo.gov/Home/Components/FacilityDirectory/FacilityDirector...

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront
We also haven't acknowledged that there is little to no traffic delay when driving between downtown and the airport. I think any friction in the system (e.g., riding the streetcar from plaza to downtown to catch a bus) would greatly reduce ridership because at that point it would be considerably fa...

Re: Jackson County Regional Rail Plan
Nobody develops property based on a bus stop. No one needs to incentivize development in the Northland. That is already happening on its own. And why would we put trains to the burbs when we want to give people a good reason to move back to the city? I feel like flyingember just wants to live in a ...

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront
STL has highspeed rail right to their airport. my experience ha been that most people trying to catch a flight drive, even if they are transit dependent. This "express" option is mostly used by staff at the airport.

Re: Streetcar to the riverfront
New to the forum. Not sure if anyone has pitched this but it would be amazing to see a low cost express bus that runs from the northern streetcar terminus to the airport, possibly even with no additional stops. Not sure if the ridership would justify but I could see it becoming the preferred way to...

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!
Looking at these photos it appears the connector bridge will not be elevated to allow planes underneath. Which is fine, but seemed to be suggested otherwise in an earlier post. Am I seeing that correctly? Burns & Mac proposed one as a potential add on. It was never realistic. Edgemoor/Clark is ...

FI liked KC and only left due to MAX issues. If travel rebounds quickly, I wouldn't be surprised if we see them back here.
