Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)
Europeans will tell you themselves, Americans are violent, and they're not wrong. Europeans will tell you all kinds of stuff about Americans, and usually they don't have a very good sense of what they are talking about. They are about as ignorant of us as they pretend we are of them, and most of th...

Re: STL MLS proposal resurrection
i'm in Chicago for the next six weeks and am thinking of visiting Saint Louis and seeing this thing in person. major props to STL City SC (that's an unnecessarily long name lol) to being second in the West! the beautiful game will undoubtably become more popular in the mound city! Absolutely embarr...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)
It's not being assaulted, approached, or harassed that is unique to the United States. It's the gun violence. Being robbed in America is a different ball game all together, especially in Kansas City. You wouldn't know it's about to happen until their kicking in your door, and that mostly happens to ...

Re: 10th and Main Southwest Corner (former transit center)
I would be happy if the trade-off is simply the developer of the highrise renovates vacant houses and apartment buildings, scattered around the City. This would provide affordable housing units and benefit the entire block by dealing with derelict structures that are unpleasant for neighbors, attra...

Re: 10th and Main Southwest Corner (former transit center)
not too surprising, to build 30% affordable in a high quality design high rise at a prominent street corner would take immense subsidies, which would be very unpopular even with those who stand to benefit. a better trade off would be build 100% luxury in exchange to build a smaller mid rise in East ...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)
Unfortunately, security in the US is often staffed by out of shape people with hip problems, asthma or some other chronic condition that limits their physical movement. And then one of the youth's parents would sue because someone touched their kid in an attempt to break something up. that part! mo...

Re: Beacon Hill
Here in KC I have to pick up fast food trash from the curb in front of my home nearly every day. One morning last week I thought there was a heaped up blanket on the sidewalk across the street, then I spied a leg sticking out from it. Regularly see people urinating and defecating in the park out in...

Re: Beacon Hill
The West Coast is really dirty, but I think it's over exaggerated. I live in the center of Hollywood and there's not nearly as much dookie on the streets as some people claim, the neighborhood has several entities that work really hard to keep the streets clean. With that being said, littering is wo...

Re: West Bottoms Redevelopment
This is disgusting. Modern is cool x all but a basic 5 over 1 replacing a structurally sound derelict midrise building is boggling. We should at least get a minimum of 7 floors and more class rather than recycling the same materials being thrown at new buildings on the Riverfront. Glass would be pre...

Agreed on moving. Maybe Paseo West or something along 18th Street will be considered. If SKC leaves KC Metro their crazy, attendance only slipped becuz the team is losing. Paseo West, the NKC site or West Bottoms (Hale Arena site) make a ton of sense. But just like we've talked about how MO probabl...

Re: Capping the Loop
There will be a pedestrian path. Taking cars off Baltimore seems like a good idera to me. Works better than Walnut, which is a block West of an entrance ramp to the 670 and would be more infuriating to drivers, albeit Walnut has more ped activity; although this could change by 2026.

Re: Troost developments
Development plan approval and blight designation for the Outlook KC development at 45th and Troost was on the Council agenda yesterday. The minutes aren't posted yet and I'm not sure what the result was. I do see that last year, the recessed 5th floor was removed from the plans. Here are the update...

Re: Turn the North Loop into a bigger living/working district?
My mistake thought we were talking about south loop lol North Loop shouldn’t be a park but maybe a classic Parisian style Independence boulevard would appease some.

Re: Turn the North Loop into a bigger living/working district?
Keep it simple, most people just want a place to sit, run, enjoy a meal in nature instead of on concrete. Movie screenings and group yoga would probly be popular. A jungle gym would be smart if the city wants families to keep moving downtown. I think there should be at least something iconic that sc...
