I sure hope not. The 56 is the only one that I know of that runs really late, and the one that'll get me to work at 11 PM, if we move to where I think we're moving.KC wrote:I bet 56/57/51 are discontinued and made into E-W feeder routes.

Do you like this architecture style?
I think it looks interesting, but still ugly. I would hate to have a building that looks like that in my town.

Forum on growth and sprawl in Missouri
And in that time, if memory serves me, from last time I looked at the census site(I love it), KC itself only gained a bit over 6000 people, out of 193,000. Now, that's sprawl.

Grain Valley looks like it will be KC's next big suburb.
It's just the consuming nature of the sprawl cycle. Grain Valley will be a cookie-cutter suburb, with good schools and Old Navy shopping, and Odessa will be on the drawing board, while KC, Independence, Raytown, and Blue Springs rot in the sprawl's wake.

Is Cordish Co. good for downtown?
Because it would need to be subsidized. To get people in JoCo to vote for the tax increase, some other deal-sweetener, like adding lanes to I-35, would have to happen. Once that cookie gets handed to the people, they will _never_ ride the train.
Oh... and I like Union Station. it's cool.

Lee's Summit Republican against transit tax...
I understand that often public transit needs a significant capital investment to get going, but that's initial. However, there is no reason that daily running and maintenance should be publicly subsidized. That proves that it has already failed. Other things need to change before countless millions ...

Re: Downtowner bus is gone and no one cares
I think it's horrible when the ATA shuts down lines, especially ones that many people like, but the truth of the matter is that with the city's current favortism to individuals driving their own cars, the ATA doesn't stand a chance. Unfortunately, the greatest percentage of the ridership of the ATA ...

Gutted apartment building ... WTF?
I've heard that a number of homeless people that have taken up residence in there before have fallen to their deaths. This building is a menace, and it needs to be removed.

Re: OFFICIAL - Arena construction
Well, as downtown KC continues to develop, it will become more and more of a pain in the butt to drive. When it eventually reaches critical mass, public transportation will be taken seriously(ie- commuter rail & bus lines,a nd maybe some day, in-city light rail will be justified. It isn't now). ...

Bed, Bath, & Beyond? What the HELL is Highwoods doing?
When you say "Midtown Marketlplace," do you mean that huge frigging eyesore at Main and Linwood? If so, I wholeheartedly disagree. The stores that are already there are impeding the success of the city, by making it near impossible to compete with them. Home Depot and Costco are the bane o...
