Re: OFFICIAL - Pennway Point
That's a great view of downtown. Even better than from the Memorial, I think, because of the angle relative to the NS streets. The buildings show better. The new apartments on the Faultless site are a nice addition to the density of the Crossroads area. KC is such a beautiful city.

Local financial planner and sales people. And I think "financial planner" is generous. I'm pretty sure they would never steer you to an investment outside CP's fold.

Agreed. Yet, I fear It will be bought by someone who values the existing building and big parking lot.

That building was part of a great neighborhood as full of character as Warner Plaza until it was leveled to make way for that park. The Ship and the Downtown Hospital were part of that neighborhood.

Re: Westport
Wasn't Loma Vista at 311 W. Wesport Rd. in the building that was formerly Broadway Hardware? If you check Google maps streeview and go to the 2007 view, you can see the liquidation sale for skateboards. Also, a search for "Loma Vista Hardware Kansas City" returns a listing at that address,...

I don't see why this isn't appropriate for this board. The impact of KC's murder rate on development and growth is undeniable. Maybe it needs its own topic.

For some reason, KC hasn't felt the need to hustle since the '70s. Don't know what happened. Sunbelt cities woke up to the future available to them and KC just yawned. It lives the legacy.

So, who's the last person in his position that accomplished what you're accusing Buttigieg of not accomplishing? And what were the lasting accomplishments? I don't know. Just curious, cause I think you must know. Thanks.

I'd say it was always obvious Sprint was going to be devoured. This feels different to me from that and usual mergers/takeovers. For one thing, both entities are not for profits. For another, their geographic service areas are complementary. I don't think there's a lot of overlap. I think the outcom...

Kcbj presents it as a merger of equals, not a buyout. If so, could raise St. Luke's game vis a vis KUMed.

Well, via the state of Missouri and, undoubtedly, Kansas City, you are all writing checks. Your wishes should be taken into regard in the final design of this important addition to the city as well as Cordish's or Loew's.

Re: Main St. Buick GMC Site - 3200 Main St.
All I know - or think I know - is what I read. According to the KCBJ (5/17), this site would qualify for 15 stories. VanTrust's site also is located within a "transit node" under the city's Main Corridor Overlay District. That designation permits building heights anywhere from three to 15 ...
