Re: Bravicci Hotel Project - South of Crown Plaza Hotel

I wonder if they are planning to build the hotel up against the Crown Plaza where the old garage was recently demolished. https://www.google.com/maps/@39.0960276,-94.5851699,258a,35y,39.36t/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en It seems like it. Having the adjacent parking lot parcel available for use will allow for...

Re: Waddell & Reed - 14th & Baltimore

Only 2 elevators seems woefully inadequate for a building this height even if it is just 8 inhabited office floors above parking. I worked in a 6 story Corporate Woods bldng with 4 elevators. Office buildings require more elevators than residential due to denser daytime population and peak rush hou...

I wish I understood more why they couldn't get financing to do w+r plus spec. I think that would go a long ways towards the frustrations here.
Didn't they previously announce that they were going to include 250K sf of spec space?

Re: Companies moving downtown

I think it's either going to end up being very unique and special, for a low rise building. That's why the secrecy exists.

I mean.. what do you expect from a private, gated business place who's parking lot you can't even enter without a special pass?

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Probably good thing this closed quickly. Delays or lingering may have caused higher bids from outsiders and MLB might have pressured Glass to consider them. I'm a little concerned over the price tag. At a billion dollars, it could put financial pressure on the ownership group and the small market c...

Any opinions? Immediately I gotta go with KCDervin. That was a monster. What do you guys think ever happened to Devin? I'd be interested to know if he ended up in the arch/engineer/development community. He certainty was passionate about that line of work in what I imagine were his high school years.

If KC loses the bid because poor public transit it would be a huge shame.
I don't get it.. Highways are still open to the public, right? And KC has what.. the largest highway system of any major city in the US?

Re: Next Mayor 2019

Impressive indeed. It's almost like Lucas acknowledged there was more to KC than just throwing money around downtown. Justus just sounded like a robot repeating the same failures of her mentor Sly James. Speaking of which he was on 710 yesterday and his interview went really bad. It's no wonder the...

Re: Liberty Memorial Musuem and Penn Valley Park

Last restoration was completed in 2006. Restoration? What happened to routine maintenance? Is it a millennial thing to think that you can just build something and walk away with it lasting forever? Maintenance and routine upkeep don't seem to be a thing in any developments these days. It's beyond s...

You do have to wonder how this will be spent. Will city officials reinvest to continue the rebuild? Will they pay down debt? Expand infrastructure/transportation? If the city saw a 10-20% increase in revenue, where would it go?

The judge should have never let her waste the courts time in the first place.. especially being that she's an attorney.. but it is what it is. That docket is longer and more drawn out than most legitimate issues. What a waste. Basically Dejanes and her husband illegally and knowingly seized a FORTY ...

I see an awful lot of other illegal stuff happen every day, too. If only things being illegal actually stopped people from doing them! Gosh, what a world that would be. I kind of wonder if it's cheaper to pour concrete and completely block parking vs the cost to drill a hole, buy a sign, place a si...

Aka If a large tenant was interested in the project the project would be a go. When a tenant is interested is when they start negotiations. It could take months or years to get from interest to being ready to finalize the design. There's no assurance having a tenant means a project is a go. Look at...
