Re: Politics

Polls show Trump is losing support among those over age 65--an important demographic for him to win. That could tip states like Arizona and Florida to Biden. https://i.imgur.com/FFYIgBn.jpg A lot of Puerto Ricans moved to Florida after the last hurricane. Trump pissed them off with his lack of supp...

Re: FBI Campus

Any new build Federal building has to have sizable set backs right? I can't remember the rules, but the feds have become difficult builders. Just look at the irs and federal reserve. Would hate to lose anyone downtown, but I'd put them over in the government district/east village area. Anyway that ...

I was able to find this newer rendering

Looking through this thread, it's difficult to get a handle on what is going to be built here (if anything). Last I saw was an underwhelming Drury Inn. What's the present plan? What does that rendering represent?

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!

Nice. Much more progress than I expected. They're ahead by a couple of months in some areas at least. The May 2019 presentation had the traffic change coming up in June and it's already happened. Veryyyyyyy lucky we did not push this project back even a few more months. Punting this from the 2008 p...

https://martincitytelegraph.com/2020/05/08/nnsa-outgrows-honeywell-campus-looks-to-expand/amp/ NNSA has doubled employment numbers leading to their leasing offices across the metro. A campus expansion is being weighed against a new secondary campus. Maybe we will see them send some office jobs back...

Re: KU-MU rivalry reborn?

Good move by ku to do the right thing and accept games against Missouri. This is a pretty clear indication they think their program will have had time to ascend out of the mud after building a foundation on the hiring of Les Miles. He will be instrumental in setting the stage for renewed interest i...

JetHQ, an aircraft broker, has moved its HQ to downtown KC from Dubai. The firm sells everything from Turboprops to 787s in deals spanning the entire globe.
Any idea how many employees and where to in KC? That's quite a cultural change.

Biden showing fairly decent leads in swing/purple states Michigan, Florida and Penn with rightie pollsters. https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/latest_polls/ Polls at this point are pretty meaningless. While Trump is doing a good job of sinking himself he also did a pretty good job of sinking ...

Which location? P&L one closed before. P&L closed Jan. 24 because the chain went bankrupt, so yeah before the order or even when restaurants started switching to carry out. Replace Bar Louie with Flying Saucer and THEN you have a COVID casualty. Is Flying Saucer out of business? I enjoyed that plac...

Re: COVID19

It doesn’t matter what a patient’s co-morbidities are, they still died of Covid-19. If they have terminal cancer and die in a car wreck they died because of a car wreck. Your logic is of the same demeanor as the politicians saying we should go about our regular activities because “only the old and ...

Map of reported COVID cases in New York City by zip code. The interesting aspect of this is that the most dense parts of NYC (Manhattan) don't have the highest reports of COVID infection. Re: COVID19

Kansas City is now estimated to be at around 503,000. STL is in the high 290,000's but could go lower considering most of the 25-30,000 attending school there will not be counted this cycle. It wouldn’t be surprising to me to see St. Louis hit 285,000 or so during this census because of this. I nev...

I read that Punch Bowl Social (the entire chain) is in dire straits due to the corona virus. The article states there are concerns regarding the viability of a concept anyway. I am curious if KCraggers think Corona Virus will cause a pause or reversal in the trend among people (particularly young people and retirees) who were choosing to live a more dense urban lifestyle and embrace viable public transportation systems. It's clear that the US epicenters are denser areas l...

And MO is behind with testing so not a good sign. Deaths climbing too, now within top 20 states. Yet MO had earlier jump with restrictions than most of US. Agree deaths a better tracker but this claims MO is one of lowest in testing yet relatively high growth in known cases... https://covidtracking...
