Re: Hotel Bravo- 17th and Wyandotte

Compelling piece in the op-ed. Hyatt is the named operator. That suggested the planning is deeper than a "conceptual plan." References to "parking garages" and such are a thumb in the eye to Cordish: "See? We're asking for concessions; but not as profoundly as (sic) Two Light and Three Light." The p...

Re: OFFICIAL - Strata (H&R Block's 2nd Tower)

Fang, I do agree with you entirely about the fate of Zona Rosa. The concept was poorly situated. Quite ironically, when I was a fresh graduate of university in 1995, I experienced the "Zona" geographic area firsthand -- ..more than you know: 1000' to the North of Zona Rosa was an apartment complex n...

Re: Hotel Bravo- 17th and Wyandotte

Dave, the origin of the omitted comma is historic perspective I did not realize... I thought the single space between sentences was a product of the "155 character twitter restriction." :) @FlyingEmber: When I went from engineering to what I do now, my mentor educated me: "Ask big, see if your custo...

Re-reading the KCStar article.. (Shameful what that newspaper has become. Biased heavy left.. Tons of opinion/politics staff; ONE person on their business desk. ONE!) Kansas City Star, 8-May, 2019: "They’re also looking for a package of other benefits: redirection of 50 percent of personal property ...

kcjack: your explanation regarding Starwood (Sheraton/Westin) = Makes PERFECT sense. With regards to TIF or similar tax incentive? Making an improvement in an urban venue, versus a greenfield development had been traditionally been cause for such incentives. For example, bringing a grocery to a "foo...

Re: Hotel Bravo- 17th and Wyandotte

0% vacancy (100% occupancy) is unprecedented. Industry averages; normalizing for regions/etc: Target is ~72% - 75%. For a product class to have 90% or above suggests market demand. Interesting the rumors, of late, are Hyatt. "Park Hyatt" would likely be the product offering. What is most curious is ...

Heavy lift crane for precast panels. Notice the base for a Liebherr tower crane.. That'll be used for the superstructure.

Re: OFFICIAL - Corrigan Building

If anyone has a current photo of the the "46 Penn Centre" development -- I'd really appreciate a look-see.

I am not back into KC-land until later summer. :(

Re: OFFICIAL - Strata (H&R Block's 2nd Tower)

Hi Everyone. I had been reading the thread for about a weeks; finally had to jump in.. (Thank you for the verify, John.) The subject of TIF has been a debate when I lived in downtown (Union Hill - 204 E. 30th) in the 1990's until early 2000's.. My career forced me to move back to New Jersey in 2001....
