Re: Proposed Downtown Street Car on Display Tuesday at Union Station

The fact that the city has a huge financial stake in the PnL is exactly the reason why they should be putting the streetcar line directly through the district and not around it.

Re: Make Grand Grand

Seems odd that they would oppose considering a UMB exec sits on their board and UMB is pushing the plan.  Who told you they oppose it...staff? (actually just interested not trying to sound pushy)?  I also am not really sure what the downtown council does and what impact they have.  Aren't they suppo...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

I was wondering what, roughly, is the cost to move the max to a new street?  Mostly just redoing curbs and building/moving shelters?  Does any one know how much was the cost of setting up the troost max minus acquiring buses?

Re: Polsinelli Shughart HQ @ 47th/Broadway

The TIF was likely awarded long ago to that specific site for any future developments. Just like there is a 48 million dollar TIF waiting for whoever moves to the site on grand in the loop.  which is a possibility for PS

Re: Polsinelli Shughart HQ @ 47th/Broadway

I wasn't trying to say the saving of the residential or possible infill was part of the save the plaza folks "victory"...I agree we are lucky that the city, highwoods, and PS moved foward with this new plan. Whether or not we call them accomplishing their intended mission of stopping the original PS...

Re: Polsinelli Shughart HQ @ 47th/Broadway

If they do build on the vacant lot AND the apartment complex is not torn down and returned to residential use, do people on the board think the save the plaza people's victory was a good one and were they right to do it?    -vacant lot redeveloped instead of razing existing building    -residential ...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

That would be great if they moved the max to grand for a straight shot from RM to CC. I always felt a max down broadway would work well/better?  B/c then DT you'd have the Troost max line, Streetcar down main (if it went all the way to plaza) and Broadway max line (good for covention center access)....

Re: Nica's 320

do you know is the breakfast only on the weekends? Would think it's daily as it was all on one menu at the restaurant.  But don't know for sure. They have a back dining room that looked really cool.  I only peaked back there as no one was being seated there, so who knows how it feels actually sitti...

Re: Nica's 320

Ate lunch/breakfast here this past Sunday.  Really like this place.  Great fit for the crossroads.  Had the salmon omelette and beingets.  Fantastic.  Great set up and staff.  Looking forward to going here for a few drinks some evening.

Re: Glass Recycling

Columbus Park also got one for our neighborhood.  Not totally sure how they hooked it up.  I think if you contact them directly to ask for one they may supply it.  Ours is a regular sized purple ripple dumpster, not one of those huge ones.  If you think your neighborhood really wants and will use on...

Re: Plaza riot?

It was close to midnight when this happened.  NO, we should not be finding 10-17 y/o a place to hang out.  They should be at home or somewhere where with family or adults, not milling on the plaza or some city sponsored event.  There are way more activities offered by the city and other organization...

Not open today, but looks like it should be open any day now.  They are currently finishing up the crosswalks and putting in planters and what not along side walk.  Looks great. Rode my bike up in front of the glass entrance and it looks awesome.  One thing I did notice that Im not sure has been men...

also had this to say about kc... Now, don't tell me that the design constraints of a football stadium defy entrancing architecture ? not until you've seen a Chiefs game in whimsical Arrowhead Stadium, designed by Charles Deaton, who also designed the futurama house in Woody Allen's Sleeper. At its u...

I cart mine down to the CP bin in a wheel barrow every other week or so.  Makes a ton of noise...always get lots of interesting looks from the JOCO folks in their SUVs who are leaving Garozzos.  guilty pleasure
