Re: Next Mayor 2019

So, in Missouri you have to show proof of residence every time you vote? In NC, you only do that when you register. At voting, just state name and address.

Re: Pursuing another downtown attraction

I would like to see the Nelson create a downtown showplace for their world class photography collection. It would serve both as a draw in its own right and as an advertisement for the main museum to people who might not make it there from downtown. I would like to see venues providing opportunities ...

Re: Phase 2 streetcar to UMKC

And, of course, we know that a rancher in - I think it was Wyoming - did try to claim federal land that his family had grazed cattle on for a couple of generations. It went badly for the family in the long run.

Re: UMKC Architecture program moving out of Epperson House

I attended classes in that house in the '70s when it was being used by the conservatory. It is the house of my dreams. Literally. Staircases up and down partial floors off long halls. Balcony overlooking the great room. Most beautiful, fanciful house I've ever seen. Yes, I've seen Biltmore. Haven't ...

Re: Three Light

A private company owning sidewalks in downtown - or on the Plaza - is, well, I can't think of another word at this hour - an abomination. If Cordish wants private green space, supply it on the 8th floor of 4 light, including a place for dogs to, well, shit. Leave the city streets, parks, rights-of-w...

Re: Three Light

Knife-wielding homeless people can be dealt with using a finer instrument than permanent, private control of what should be a public space. What would Cordish do with that person that I, or you, couldn't do? Banish them? Like some, the most likely to be violent, homeless people could care. Cordish c...

I, too, am ok with Cordish building, operating and making money from functions they fund in the park. It's exclusion of non-residents I find offensive.

I think the ground level along 14th would make a great place for office/greeting space for conventions support. Extremely accessible.

Re: Three Light

If the highway is capped with a park, it must be open to the public. If the city/MODOT can't, won't finance it, it shouldn't happen. The trench is not the end of the world for downtown. No private park.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Given the amazing things being done with wood high-rise construction, how about a wood stadium? That would be a throwback into the future.
