Does anyone have a rendering of the MAC 5 floor/110 unit apt building now under construction at Cherry/Amour? Planned to open end of year or so.

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??

The is a tunnel from a house to a carriage house on a home around 11th and Paseo. The home was supposedly built for a doctor to the mob (allegedly connected to Al Capone). It is a spectacular home.

Re: Real Estate Listings of Interest (Metrowide)

The tax appraisal on that home is over $1.25M, so the taxes are a little over valued. If you were to buy it, you could contest the valuation next time it comes up, if they don't adjust automatically. As for why it hasn't sold, I can't really say. I do think that little stretch of Ward Parkway may be...

Re: Troost developments

Oh, there's a family that's been "renovating" it for the past two and a half years. Very little progress here, and it's been frustrating. Of course, they won't sell... The SE corner shows as owned by someone who lives in California. That probably plays a part. It's a mother and two sons. At least o...

Re: Renovations of apartment buildings along Armour Blvd.

Historic apartment building on Armour sells at auction The U.S. General Services Administration sold a Midtown apartment building known as Windsor Manor for $1.9 million. The GSA sold the four-story brick building at 409 E. Armour Blvd. in an online auction. ... https://www.bizjournals.com/kansasci...

Re: Uptown Shoppes

I think that may be for the hotel proposal on Central north of Westport Rd. I believe it was to be a Marriott TownePlace Suites. Dirt was moved on that site a while back and it seemed like site prep was starting, but it has just been sitting as a mound of earth.

Re: Renovations of apartment buildings along Armour Blvd.

Here is a drone shot for a listing of a home in Hyde Park. It has a pretty nice view of Armour Blvd. You can see the elevator shaft for the 520 E Armour development poking out of the trees.

Some other Midtown area projects I noticed on that site: Westport Terrace at Manor Square Boutique Hotel was posted on March 29th for Planning Schematics. Wesport Terrace at Manor Square Apartments was posted on May 5th, but the stage is listed as "Delayed". I don't know if that means it was changed...

Re: Midtown Area Apartment Boom

I also would be curious about any more details on that project, if anyone has access. $25-$50M would be a rather large project, particularly for the 64109 zip. I notice that is has the same upload date listed as the Armour and Troost 4 corners listings (June 9). Is it just a coincidence? I wonder if...

Re: COVID19

Would be interested to see the hospitalization rate between this country and the EU. The US has done far more total tests, over 31 million so far and currently 500,000 per day. If the increase in cases was due to an increase in testing, then the positive test rate would be dropping and would be low...

There is a proposal to demolish the buff brick building behind the Christian Church Hospital at 27th and Paseo and replace it with a 96 unit group living rehab facility. It is a companion building to the hospital and I believe is was originally housed nurses. The duplexes and West Paseo would also b...

I wonder if Trump does win again, if his massive ego would lead him to be more of a centrist? His ego wants him to go down in history as something special and once he doesn't need to placate to the right, I could see him doing some decent things. Is there a single thing that Trump has done in his f...

Re: Blvd 64 - 6404 Paseo

This has been discussed in the Brookside thread. I believe the original name for this development was "Brookside East", but it looks like it has been changed (thankfully). It is a UCB project. This is a senior living development. It's odd that I don't see any mention of that on the website, although...

The warehouse building at Linwood and Cherry has sold - or is at least under contract. The current owner has been liquidating the contents. It will be interesting to see what the new owner has planned. I am hoping/assuming some sort of conversion.

I don't think these renderings have ever been posted. Here is a look at Northpoint's 353 unit apartment development:

Re: Troost developments

It looks like the development proposal for the two buildings on either side of the Firehouse at 45th and Troost is still alive. The zoning change was to be heard at the June 16th CPC meeting, but it has been continued to next month to allow for further public engagement.

Re: Martini Corner near 31st/Gilham

There is an item on the upcoming CPC Docket (although it looks like it is being continued) for a new parking lot to be built for KCPT just south of the tower (where they recently demolished a decent looking brick apartment building). My only hope for this is that it would allow them to sell their lo...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

I'm not sure where that rendering comes from, but it doesn't appear to match the proposal that was shot down due to height restrictions. That proposal was only supposed to add 3 floors, while that rendering looks like it adds 6 floors (although it is hard to tell exactly). The proposal was from Nort...

Here is a building that I believe is new to the market - the Laramie Tires Building at 1201 Union. Looks like it could have good potential. 120,000 sq ft:

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

I don't recall seeing that rendering before, but I believe that project was shot down by city government (I can't remember which agency: cpc, bza, council....). I think it was denied the necessary exemption to the height restriction
