Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project

Ridiculous that riverfront property in places like Louisville and Omaha attract high rise residential, but KC ends up with schlock. The affordable housing development looks like a soviet-era block and now this and a squat hotel surrounded by parking and with no street/pedestrian activity? Is anyone...

Re: OFFICIAL - Artistry KC (19th and Oak)

I think the 3 major projects going on DT right now are close to 3 of my favorites. This one because it (begins to) links east-west Xroads. Reverb because it has some height and nice design. City Club because it is the entry to DT from the Midtown, a nice design, and a whole city block of revitaliza...

Re: Hospital Hill activity

Patients are people with medical needs. Dental patients tend to be older, as healthy people under 40 or 50 usually have not developed many severe dental or tooth loss problems. Humans used to not live much over 40 and teeth seem to not want to last much more than that. There are lots of elderly goi...

From Liberty Memorial, Loews looks to be the same height and massing as the Vista - Marriot Tower.

Re: Hotel Bravo- 17th and Wyandotte

Same logic applies to Strata, and the streetcar for some on the council. It feels different than Strata though. I feel like with Strata they like the project and want office buildings but are trying to negotiate out the city backing piece. It feels like with this they just don’t want it. If they ac...

Re: Muehlebach Hotel / KC Club Project

A few questions about this project: - Is it still receiving city funds for the parking? I did not see this mentioned in the story, but my understanding is those direct incentives were signed and sealed. - Has the retail component been abandoned? It isn't mentioned in the article and is not clear fr...

Re: Companies moving downtown

Nice conceptual depictions. 13th/Grand seems like a better possibility than other sites mentioned. And I see that you made lower floors with larger plates, which makes sense. And could see three tiers. Backoffice workers on the lower floors and execs/key employees and their aids on some of the uppe...

I think the USO is still happening.

Re: Companies moving downtown

The overview says they would be "part" of the new building, so I think it would be safe to assume there will be additional office space, or even hotel/apartment space included. They are part of a bigger development, supposedly closer to $200 million+ total. It would be neat if they placed a $100mil...
