Re: Polsinelli Shuhart HQ @ 47th/Broadway
PS life in this building of 10-15 years isn't a commentary on the Plaza, nor is it a completely made up supposition. That's the nature of law firms. There are lots of examples in the area of this.

Re: Polsinelli Shuhart HQ @ 47th/Broadway
I believe PS wants to stay in MO as well. Another problem though is how long will they stay at this location? Future growth, mergers, "keeping up with the Joneses." They'll be here 10-15 years and will look for another location after that. In the mean time you lose a 90% occupied apart...

Re: Polsinelli Shuhart HQ @ 47th/Broadway
Hopefully everyone at this point realizes this is as bad as it looks. The precedent this sets is terrible, the project is terrible, the demolition of an historically significant structure is terrible, what this does to the fabric of the Plaza is terrible. 360, Highwoods, PS should all be embarrass...

Re: Drum Room
For one of the Garth shows my wife and I went to the Drum room with two friends for dinner. I got the pork chop with miso sauce and it was awesome. I believe everyone else liked their meals as well. The service was subpar, but it has been every time I have gone there. However, good food forgives...

Re: Cresta Bella - the "L" Shaped House
This thoroughly pisses me off...isn't this the same group that wants to tear down half of the brick apartments over on Cleaver? What a complete lack of respect for the city and for a wonderful house. I wish we had some kind of protection for buildings worth keeping. Another one for Kansas City The...

Re: JoCo residents to vote on youth soccer fields / Wizards stadium in OP
I say put it up north...anywhere. Riverside, Parkville, NKC (close to Cerner), Airport. Where ever. The kid fields failed in OP, just as a Wizards stadium will too. OP continuously fails to do what is best for the whole city, so don't rely on them to pony up for anything that might benefit every...

I wonder if this is that small building between the Hyatt and Truman Hospital. I think it has a big antennae on top...the size matches.

Re: police response to crime from a victim's point of view.
I had a small incident last week (individual on the street shining a laser light in the windows of my house then walking off) and we called the police just to report it. Same thing...they asked for a number and called us back. Only thing i can imagine is that emergencies get pushed to the top and ...

Re: Serious renovations north of the Plaza
Any idea what their timeline is, or any other info? The guys from Cohen/Esrey own a bunch of apartments between St. Luke's and the Plaza and are going to convert them to condo one set at a time. This is the first bunch

Re: OK, what's with the jungle sound effects in Mill Creek Park???
This has perplexed me for so long. I couldn't imagine what kind of bird made this sound...and i could never find it. A recording...clever.
St. Lukes has this, along with an incredible pigeon sh*t problem. Maybe it doesn't work...

The corner of Mill St. and Wesport Rd has a sign up with the picture of the building that will be on this corner. This is a step in the right direction. I can't find anything on the internet, but if i remember i'll get a pic of the sign and post it. I heard something on St. Patricks Day that Harr...

Re: LA style news chopper car chase in KC...
This guy went speeding past me on Broadway. I was at the stop light facing the new IRS buildings and I saw this giant truck come speeding by with a dude in sun glasses staring out the passenger side window at me. My first thought was what an idiot for going so fast, then I saw 3 police cars chasin...

Re: KC Oktoberfest moves to Crown Center
Bad move. This will be vanilla and boring at CC. Irish fest had a much less corporate feel when it was in Brookside. It wasn't fun last year at all. Though the riverfront park wasn't the best venue for Oktoberfest, it was a more natural fit than CC. I probably won't attend this year after ...

If this sticks it is the beginning of the end for the NFL. The salary cap is what put the league where it is today. Losing the cap is a monumental mistake.

Re: K. Shields for Mayor?
My understanding is K. Shields is the source of much of the problems with our crooked county government. Kickbacks, bribes, favortism, etc. Also, I hear she is a big self-congratulator.Â
*You are correct. It is county.Â

Re: T.O in a Chiefs uniform for 2006 season?
Completely and totally all for it. TO and a young pass rushing DE are the Chief's keys to the playoffs next year. TO is eccentric and loud mouthed, but he gives 100% and doesn't get in trouble with the law. You cannot pass on a talent like this despite the headaches.

Re: MacKenzie House development - new 61 unit project near Plaza
From the plan it appears they are building around one on Nichols, but the pictures for Wornall do not show any of the current buildings from St. Lukes down. There is a classic colonade there and two that are all brick but are the same colonade style. The two all brick buildings now have boarded up...

Re: MacKenzie House development - new 61 unit project near Plaza
I drove past this site last night and there are two problems with the development. Though I am all for the idea of this project I don't think the plans fit the site.   1. They are tearing down several Plaza style colonade buildings to make this happen. The buildings are boarded up and are bei...
