Re: Three Light

i know its been talked about time and again on multiple threads but seeing this latest image reminds me how much id like to see wider sidewalks along Truman at the base of 2,3,and 4 Light to allow for front of restaurant and cafe patio space to really activate that stretch. The restaurants along 14t...

Re: Why Can't the West Bottoms Be Redeveloped....?

Woah, crazy. My wife and I recently started going to the gym located on the 4th floor of this building. Anyone know what the process is for determining the safety of a building after a fire like this in order for business to continue?

dont forget that most churches host 1 or 2 weddings a weekend, usually with the majority of attendees not being church members and most likely coming by car

Re: Westport's fate post-P&L

Wait...maybe I missed it...but what is so bad about this project? :-k Simply put, its the pitched roofs. Pitched roofs are traditionally a single family home element that been used in suburban apartment designs for the last 50+ years to make their residents feel as if they are living in one big hou...

Re: Proposed apartment for 13th and Walnut - One Light

awesome response, everything you said makes sense. I'm actually kicking myself a little for not stopping to think all of that through before before posting my comment. The mirrored finish makes sense given the privacy desired in a residential tower, its just not my favorite look. I do believe a high...

Re: Proposed apartment for 13th and Walnut - One Light

am i being picky in thinking that the glass used on this building is really cheap looking? Every single window in that photo distorts its reflection. It almost looks like they installed plastic saran wrap in place of glass. I would be afraid to lean up against that glass if i lived there, it just do...

ha, good catch. And on the flip side, 45th IS a two way but rendering shows a car driving west in the eastbound lane.

Re: Proposed apartment for 13th and Walnut - One Light

i don't think those webcams were intended just for this project, i may be wrong. I agree though, they are nice for people who are unable to see the construction in person. They are also positioned well for the convention hotel construction once that begins

Re: Scamp's Alley

i agree, this is one of the most dense streets in terms of beautiful old architecture and trees. I like that the phoenix has a couple sidewalk tables. Unfortunately, the sidewalk to is too narrow to have tables outside any of the other spaces on that street. Since it is a one-way already, it would b...

Re: New Convention Hotel

Im starting to realize I dont care how tall it is, just as long as it creates a strong walkable street presence and is visually pleasing to look at. And most importantly, does what it is intended to do, bring in lots of outside money.

Re: Why Can't the West Bottoms Be Redeveloped....?

actually, if you look at the before and after on the website they seemed to have done a decent job of infilling around the existing buildings. The only place I see a lot torn down is a couple on Liberty and between Wyoming and Genessee, which just so happens to house the majority of the existing lif...

you mean, like this? http://inhabitat.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/1/files/2010/03/Solar-City-Tower-by-RAFAA-21.jpg but in all seriousness, I cant say I have ever seen anything quite like what you are asking, running the full height of the building like that. http://media.bizj.us/view/img/5827701/kccch-rendering-2.jpg Yes just a rendering....At night it looks fine but in the light the top feature makes the building look unfinished. DUMB. Re: Misc Crossroads News

http://pourmybeer.com/ I think this is really cool. swipe your card, get your pour. I'm curious if allowing people to pour their own drinks = more drinks bought. Its an experience you cant get at any other bar. Also, i just quickly googled budapest ruin bars. These look like fun places to check out...
