Re: COVID19

So we shouldn’t do something because it would upset the rich people? No company should pay dividends then immediately need a government bailout. They’re either grossly irresponsible with their funds or lying. In either case they should be allowed to fail. It’s obvious now that the workers and consu...

Which is why we should actually tax businesses and wealthy at a reasonable amount so we can fund these programs so when shit hits the fan we don't have what we have now, unlike now.

Re: COVID19

I hope this pandemic gets it through peoples heads that we need a radically improved social safety net in this country. I'm sure we will get one for the businesses, we socialize risk in this country and privitize profits. Cruise Ships should get nothing, they are based in other countries now to avo...

Re: Politics

I was fairly certain that Trump was going to win re-election anyway (I've had $50 bucks on it for a couple years now) but this seals the deal to me. Hillary was a far better candidate than Biden IMO, and that's saying something.

Re: Westport

At the CPC (I think) meeting I attended, the people opposed to the OPUS project had a presentation that included a slide of the building throughout the decade, I think trying to indicate that it was old and historic. Unfortunately, I thought their slide undercut their position because it showed the ...

Also, Nomad's, the wine bar/coffee shop in the old DB Coopers spot has closed.
You sure? I was just there last night and it had a good crowd and no one mentioned anything about them closing.

Re: Midtown Area Apartment Boom

The rowhouse project on 34th is a great design for the neighborhood. Really ties in with the historic architecture. Wonder what the price point will be? Once the streetcar extension is underway I expect any vacant lots to disappear, and then more than a few teardowns and replacements(like some of t...

Re: Bike Lanes

Every time I am driving and there is a biker minding their own business I will follow them if I can and leave a good car plus space between us. I will follow at 5 mph if needed. I hope this doesn't scare anyone. I'm just trying to protect them from the crazy drivers. I would much rather they hit me...
