Re: Urban Cores Insane Out Of Control Drivers

This forum is about development, not observations of driving habits. Try https://www.reddit.com/r/kansascity/. It is related. Does the City Council even bother to scrutinize the idiotic traffic studies developers submit and the impact is is going to have on everyone? I don't think they do because I...

Re: Urban Cores Insane Out Of Control Drivers

I avoid that ridiculous strip as much as possible anymore. Approving that QT expansion was one of the worst decisions City Hall has ever made.

Re: Urban Cores Insane Out Of Control Drivers

I saw two cars rip right through a red light at the intersection of Westport Rd. and Roanoke by the QT insane asylum earlier. In heavy traffic. Speeders and people cutting off others and other blatant acts of disregard for the safety of others. Totally out of control.

What is it going to take?

"Not an exaggeration to call it lawlessness." What in the hell are we going to do about this craziness? It's getting worse. I mean really bad.

Dave... Any idea when we'll see approval (or not) for funding the free fare for next fiscal cycle? Could it take until May before we find out and could it start in May if approval not until last minute?
After everyone's property tax checks have been accounted for and cashed.

It also suggests how we really aren't generating a return on the masses of infrastructure required to get people out of the city. The value is in the core.

What do you mean "get people out of the city". I thought the idea of all this was to attempt to attract people to live in the urban core.

Re: Poll: Does the Plaza need a drastic change, some change or on the right path?

Lived here 28 years. The Plaza has gone from a ultra pedestrian friendly area with no traffic lights, imagine that.. to a automobile and noise polluted mess.

Maybe it is time to slow down just a little bit and start doing a little damage control?

Re: OFFICIAL - Waddell & Reed - 14th & Baltimore

That BM would upload drawings that WR hadn’t approved (as seems to be the case) is very strange. Wondering if WR had approved something and then backed up when the drawings were not received favorably. ^Agreed. This has all the marks of something fairly far along that they pulled after how things h...

40 appeals? Details?

Does anyone know if forever 21 is closing on the plaza or are they still negotiating the lease rates?

Plaza has about 40 appeals in progress so I can imagine if they aren't successful a lot of people-businesses are going to seriously consider closing and moving.

Blighted Midtown

Any comments, statements, wisdom or enlightenment on this deal? Is midtown Kansas City ‘blighted’? Developers seeking tax breaks are trying to convince the city it is. https://www.thepitchkc.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Screen-Shot-2019-12-17-at-4.51.28-PM.png https://www.thepitchkc.com/is-midtown...

Re: 4711 Belleview

I'm pretty sure that WPNA is not against development on the Madison/Bellvieu corridor as long as it considers traffic flow, etc. Most folks I know have been supportive of higher/better uses along that stretch. Why even worry about that at this point. It's out of their control. You can experience al...

AFAIK, the WPNA has been fairly developer-friendly over the last 10 years or so. Maybe it's changed in the last few years.
