Re: KU/KCK <-----> TSC East/West Transit
I'd get rid of parking on 39th and put the streetcar in a grass median like in Europe. I'm sure KU med will open a paid parking garage for streetcar parking. Just park there and ride it. And get those buidings labeled as historic or get zoning height restrictions on those blocks so they don't get re...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
If we do go with the EV site, I'd like to see the currently empty lots north of the T-mobile center saved as a view corridor between P&L and the new stadium so you could literally see the two areas from each other as a pedestrian/tourist. If you remove the ugly concrete municipal courthouse and ...

Re: New downtown on street parking rolloout
Looks like a nice step in the right direction. When friends and family come from the burbs into downtown, they always complain about parking and the confusion in general. I don't agree with them but anything we can do to make it more simple for visitors, I support. Next, let's tackle the food deliv...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
somebody can go ahead and give this to the Royals, I'm designing the stadium for free... You can Easily fit a baseball stadium (this is roughly a 30k seat stadium, using a Royals Urban academy field which has fences that are 8 to 10 feet shorter than the K. Also can fit a soccer field. Saves a big c...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
I think they should make Rome Circle the new cell phone lot since it will be connected to baggage claim with a covered walkway anyways. I'm not following what you are saying here. How is it connected via baggage claim with a covered walkway? Is this something planned? I think B or C garages were go...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
The stretch of Oak this would close doesn’t seem highly utilized. It's literally 1 of only 2 streets that cross downtown, connects south, and crosses the river. The other being Broadway. It doesn't seem like it has much traffic because it is literally the most efficient street going through downtow...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
It is interesting that with the demo of B and C, they are removing the terminals and the outer loop but keeping the inner loop (3 lanes) of Rome and Beirut Circles and both parking garages will remain. I think they should make Rome Circle the new cell phone lot since it will be connected to baggage ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Here is how I'm currently ranking the proposed (and not proposed sites) based on my own personal preferences. 1. Star (if Oak is not closed) 2. Westport (a Wrigleyville urban stadium, don't think anything like this has ever been proposed) 3. East village 4. NKC 5. Stay at TSC 6. Star site if Oak is ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I'm absolutely against any plan that closes Oak. Considering Grand is closed half the time and the 670 park deck is going to close 1 or 2 streets, Oak is needed. I use Oak all the time, it's easily my most used North-South street through downtown/crossroads. Another example I made using Camden park ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I put together my own vision of the star site, trying to save as many buildings as I'd want to see saved. Sorry new BOK drive through, you are in the way of my ballpark plaza. I used San Diego's stadium as a starting point. I liked the way it faces north and fits in the lot better than most other mo...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Looking at the star site, I don't like the idea of demolishing the storefronts along grand or the buildings along the east side of oak so I'd like to see as much of that saved as possible. But the more I look at it, the more I like the star site. It's closer to the streetcar, more walkable from p&am...

Re: NBA to Kansas City
T-Mobile Center stands as a shining example of ongoing renovations, recently further enhanced through a new naming rights agreement. It not only meets the standards set by the finest NBA arenas in the country but, in many aspects, surpasses them. The venue excels in every aspect that an NBA team va...

Re: Worlds of Fun becoming Six Flags?
The six flag name is going to be way more famous outside the KC market and could maybe help bring in a few more tourists, and having things like DC characters could make a kid in Wichita want to go to WOF over Silver Dollar City even though SDC is a far better park.

Re: Misc Crossroads News
What demo is afraid of cities? older conservative white men, the Fox news demo So I guess younger liberal men, the cnn demo, is afraid of rural areas? It’s such a ridiculous way to look at this. As someone who lived downtown for years, I enjoyed the experience and the diversity of people I got to k...

Re: Misc Crossroads News
Not surprising. I fear the last 20 years of good work in urban cores will be for naught over the next five. That said, to say no company feels their employees are safe downtown is an absurd statement. I was literally thinking about that this weekend after a trip to crown center/union station. We sp...
