Wow! Even more hostility. I was not the only one to notice, dude....
I really don't know what to say, you're clearly adding your own emotion into the text.
Then maybe we can get back to just a healthy discussion....

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

JFC dude.. why the hostility and looking down your nose at me? You could have easily registered your opinions and objections in a respectful way.. yet chose to be hostile as if my post was an affront... such a problem in our country these days... anyone who doesn't agree 100% with what I believe is ...

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

I have been staring at google maps on this too much... LOL.... the problem I see with East Loop for a project this large is that it is not just the stadium... you will also want space around the stadium for entertainment... bars, food, etc. and east loop has lots of parking lots that could be used f...

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

Good comments, but isn't this where the milhaus project is currently under construction? Artistry is 19th to 20th, Oak to Cherry. That site is gone for good, the angle of the tracks makes what's left way too small. Man I can't believe I missed that... What about further east at 19th and grand.. I c...

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

Shoot.. I forgot to add 2 more:

* the land is mostly surface parking now so no major demo issues
* backing up against the tracks *could* make it easier in the future to add a commuter rail station directly under the stadium.....

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?

I think another issue with having the ballpark on the northside of DT would be the ideal orientation of the field: East North East. If you put a field on the River, North Loop, or even East Village.. you will be sacrificing any view of the CBD. While that may not be the most important factor.. I thi...

Re: Anyone know what is going on with Balancas?

A murder or two and all of a sudden a place is "no good". People are so reactionary. /s I know.. I mean lightning doesn't strike THREE times, right.. =P~ That is what I pretty much figured but I was kind of holding out hope there was a way to get the place back to where it was put I fear that Lori ...

Anyone know what is going on with Balancas?

I know about the shooting incidents but does anyone know if this place is still open or not? It can be a fun place to go and it seems like I have seen it open still but sometimes it is all locked up.. any insight?

Well, the visitors who have posted on different sites are most definitely mixed, the revenue numbers are in and they did really well for their first month: http://www.wyandottedailynews.com/component/content/article/41-top-headlines/10951-hollywood-casino-shows-almost-15-million-in-revenues-in-first...

Re: Overland Park could raise property taxes 46%

The city's property tax is less than 10 percent of the total property tax levied on a house, so a 46% increase in the city's portion isn't huge. This is a great example of how statistics and figures can be used to mislead.  In the current "any tax increase is evil" mode the country is in, the paper...

Re: GM Fairfax Investment..

Does anyone beside me remember the old Fairfax airport that was torn down to build the GM plant?  Lovely building.  There was a lot of aircraft industry in KCK at one time.   I bet most people have never looked at a google map satellite image of the plant.  Not only was the airport there, in fact y...

Re: Google picks KCK for ultra fast fiber network

No, I didn't. I imagine you could find a situation that merits 110 a foot, but in most cases that would be highway robbery. It's not like it costs exactly $110 every foot... There are a lot of fixed costs that get amortized over an installation.  Some have been mentioned like permits, labor, etc.  ...

Re: Google picks KCK for ultra fast fiber network

A few points... .. some have speculated that this development will spur development of data centers.  While it certainly will not hurt, the fact is we already have a large data center community (both private centers and hosting companies).  I work for what is probably the largest managed hosting pro...

No. You can review my posts over the past few years.  I'm informed and I'm neither a provacateur nor a bullshitter. (Well, unless being totally facetious) I won't provide the details, as they are the business of the people who offered the developments.  They were credible entities, with proven trac...

Re: Village West vs. Power & Light District

Over the past 15 years, there have been several development overtures made to create change in downtown KCK.  They have been cut off at the knees by the "good old boys club" that dismissed "outsiders".  The ony exception was the hotel development and that was because the development team was except...

Re: Village West vs. Power & Light District

I love both developments for vastly different reasons.  I see some points of comparison and contrast at using public funds for private development.  There is no denying that for measurable return on investment, VW has been a 100% success.  It is also true that while the project finances for P&L have...

Re: Light Rail R.O.W. we lost (Strang Line)

It seems to me that there is a corridor through JOCO that could be used still that would approximate the Strang Line route. It would be from DT Olathe on either KC Road or Santa Fe Road, and then eventually hit DT Lenexa on Santa Fe Road (It could use hop on / hop off tracks to utilize current RR br...
