Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I used to be for downtown ball, but I just don't have any passion for it like I used to. Do you have any passion for what the next generation, and beyond, would like to experience? Not if it comes at a high 9-figure cost to tax payers - no. And it's not like I said I hated downtown baseball. I'm ju...

Re: Hard rock
Will this be a Hotel plus Casino? If so, what has happened to the existing casino at the Legends? Hollywood Casino is still there. Not sure how it's doing. I think it's still considered the nicest/newest casino in the metro. For whatever that's worth. This Hard Rock will not be a casino. But, it wi...

Re: Broadway
I saw that too. No clue what they were doing.
I guess it worked in the sense that we're talking about it. But, would it kill them to mix in a sign with a URL and a clue as to what they're doing? I don't want to honk if it's some sort of neo-Nazi thing (which I know it's probably not - just sayin').

It sounded cool as hell on Sunday night in midtown. Loved hearing the old school sounding whistle.

FWIW, to me, it sounds like you're just trying to make up Yiddish words. Which is kind of insulting/demeaning for people who have that language as a part of their family's recent history.KCPowercat wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2019 1:10 pmI prefer the trip out to Kauffman to be considered shlugging

For those who didn't click, Torchy's from Austin is opening a place at Ward Parkway. Good get for them. It's a long way for me to drive for tacos, but I'll give it a shot.

The parking would be a definite advantage for a lot of us, but I don't think that's representative of the overall fanbase. It was only $15, btw.

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?
Even a bad team brings in an event 81 nights a year and the atmosphere would likely draw more fans than having to shlug out to Kauffman Ticket prices will likely be much higher in a new stadium. They always are. I'm not going to say Royals fans should be compared to Miami fans, but look at what a b...

Re: Would you like to see the Royals move to a downtown stadium?
There’s really no harm in leaving the Royals out at TSC. The urban core of KC is doing pretty well without them. I’d hate to see us hitch so much money and acreage to the competence of a sports team - especially one that’s had 2-3 good years in the last 30. Agree, have mentioned I would've supporte...

I assume it's largely safety and traffic data. Although, I imagine there will be businesses that also offer anecdotal/partial data regarding business/revenue being positively/negatively effected by the changes.

How about something black and white... perhaps an old-timey streetcar type theme?

"Restaurant" would be a great name.
And is that rendering greatly exaggerating the amount of sidewalk space?

Someone in the Broadway thread said the same thing - owned by KC Life and searching for a tenant. That was a few months ago.

Re: Uptown Theatre district improvements
I love Mesob. Wasn't sure what their fate would be with the re-development going on. I think the Krokstrom space is a bit big for them. I understand their last place was decent-sized, but I imagine the rent of that shitty spot was bit less than what is expected at that Krokstrom space.

Re: St. Louis
In August, I stayed downtown at the hotel connected to the City Museum (The Last Hotel in St. Louis) - I thought it was really nice for a night. Rates weren't terrible. Other than fact that someone did a hit/run on my car parked next to the hotel, it was a cool location for an evening. Stayed out by...

Re: Uptown Theatre district improvements
People on this board, and everywhere else, are quick to point out why a restaurant fails and/or claim that a restaurant is successful. Appearances can be deceiving. You might think they are doing well when, in fact, they may be struggling and about to close. Same logic for when you think they may b...
