Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Maybe others have posted this already, but having that godawful AT&T building in the background is really going to suck. I know there are some kind of rules about MLB stadium orientations, but still.

Re: OFFICIAL - Prairiefire

It isn’t going to be an Amazon Fresh. My point is they are implying a grocery store is coming. Yeah, they would like a grocery to fill that spot - but that building has been finished since early last summer and still nothing.

Re: OFFICIAL - Prairiefire

Bondholders were sent a notice of default last month after Prairiefire could not pay off $15 million in debt by its maturity date, which is the first slice of $65 million in Kansas Sales Tax and Revenue, or STAR, bonds issued in 2012. Johnson County mega-development defaults on bonds from controver...

"New to area" could simply mean new to THIS area. Like another What-A-Burger. Or Chick-fil-A.

Re: Downtown Mission/ The Gateway

It's also amazing that the former Whole Foods store (and I think it started out as a Safeway back in the day), has sat empty this whole time across the street. The negative energy given off the Gateway site no doubt has affected any development there.

Never mind. Noticed yesterday it’s nearly down now. Goodbye, last vestige of Metcalf South.

Site plan plan linked above does not show Sears building; they are making quick progress this week of knocking it down.

Walked the Legends shopping district for the first time in quite a while and was shocked at how much the property on the whole has deteriorated. Trash everywhere and overall condition is in some pretty rough shape. Hopefully, they have some capital improvements dollars socked away because it needs ...

Re: Town Center Plaza

Vineyard Vines and Amazon 4* are currently under construction. Warby Parker and The Shade Store are recent additions to the area at Town Center Crossing. Went into Gap today and they looked about 10 minutes from liquidation. Will this kill the rumored "Amazon store" that was going to be i...

Re: Zona Rosa maintenance?

Dillard's also regrets not committing to a store down south after that proposed Simon-developed mall failed to get off the ground in Martin City because sales at the two Oak Park stores have declined quite a bit. Must have missed that Martin City mall proposal. That would really fit right in with a...

They haven't been working on the old Sears for well over a month now. In the meantime, an older office building across Metcalf has been renovated and is lit up with blinding LED lighting now.

Along Bannister I think the new Price Chopper is done and the hotel on the corner is taking shape. It’s better than nothing.

If so, it makes sense as a small office building was torn down there in the last six months or so. And the BP on the NE corner near Q39 is a ripoff.

Re: OFFICIAL: The Legends at Village West

Unsurprising to me. This was in the works for awhile. It was a dumb decision to build the office there just driven by the lure of STAR bonds & Illig involvement in Sporting. I believe CERN will be hybrid, in person and remote depending on the team. They can rebrand it the STAR Bonds Resort &...

Really curious if the new Price Chopper being built in the shell of the old K-Mart on the south side of Bannister actually makes it. There is an extremely sketchy Price Chopper at Blue Ridge and Bannister that looks like a fortress (which I assume the new one will replace, further eroding the Blue R...

Google maps is wrong, or so it seems. If you type in the address they give, it IS near I-35. But the Casey's at Pflumm & 151st is listed as just a few numbers different than the stated Fareway (not Faraway) address. Someone screwed up with the press release. Like I previously said, a sign has be...

It's actually going to be further east, next door to Casey's across from the airport (at Pflumm & 151st). A sign has been up for months.
