Re: 3rd & Grand to be redeveloped as TOD

^Was mostly thinking future projects. If city builds P&R/leaseable garages near end of line, future projects may not need to include much if any parking if able to arrange spots with these garages. And it keeps that many cars off downtown streets, especially for major events. Many who move downtown...

Anyone heard anything about census workers denied access to one and two lights and other DT apartments buildings?
There was 40+ buildings in this situation at one point less than a couple weeks ago, mostly downtown.

Eric Bunch has been on top of this one

Re: 3rd & Grand to be redeveloped as TOD

If any more city built garages, it should be along the viaduct with a streetcar stop and/or near Bond Bridge exit. Would keep that many cars off downtown streets. And could lease to downtown residential buildings that have little/no parking. What buildings have little to no parking that would be re...

KC's iconic 'Flashcube' building now open

The word "iconic" is vastly overused in society now, and certainly in this case.
Adjectives are used by media company, news at 10

Re: New Broadway Bridge

From Little Rock to Portland to Philly to Tampa. Every city has this stuff if they are anywhere near water. KC doesn't. The city should be spending money to do this instead of building these connections from 169 to 35 which are totally redundant and not needed. I have beat a dead horse. Moving on. ...

The NW Forest plan removed less than 1% of forest service land from timber harvesting and most of that was outside California

https://www.fs.fed.us/r6/reo/landuse/

If removing less than 1% of less than 1% of land from logging can kill an industry they were already in decline.

Re: Climate Change Will Force a New American Migration

Anecdotal but, my family used to work in forestry and logging in northern CA back in the 50’s-70’s, Sierra club was formed and pressed state to halt all forestry operations in Northern CA. Not only did this kill all logging industry in CA, this decimated the ability of the state to manage the fores...

Re: OFFICIAL: Zona Rosa (tenants & phase II)

This could all work, it's just trying to find the formula to get it to work. Replacement with something new thats not retail It ended up replacing Metro North and that still isn’t anything new 15 years after Zona Rosa opened. It’s already been replaced with other shopping centers in the area. The p...

Re: Urban Core Drivers

How do you know it’s widespread? Your view of a road is a fraction of a day. Also, what makes you think there isn’t deterrence? Given your minority view could they be enforcing it at times you aren’t on the road? This is the same logic fault as someone saying they don’t see bicyclists so there’s no...

Re: Urban Core Drivers

Your first assumption is the police are there to see them driving. It seems so widespread lately though that there just can’t be any deterrence happening. Do the police even know it’s illegal? How do you know it’s widespread? Your view of a road is a fraction of a day. Also, what makes you think th...

This place is what it is. A shopping center. Nothing more. Period.
There's a bunch of offices and residential too. A for-profit college HQ was located in it.

Their mix was off, if they had built 6 story buildings with residential over the retail it would have had a lot more customers.

Re: Urban Core Drivers

I’ve been seeing lots of large delivery, even semi-size trucks on boulevards through the area. They destroy trees and are too large for urban lanes. Do police not ticket for these trucks being on boulevards they’re not supposed to? Your first assumption is the police are there to see them driving.

Ask tourists how they feel. I'll give you a hint: NOBODY wants to move to a boring, chlorine clean city with no character. Architecture exists to attract. The failure to use attractive architecture has GENERATIONAL effects. And yet Levittown attracted tons of people with a chlorine clean community....

It’s ok to talk about how black men are 3 times more likely to be shot by a cop but don’t mention the fact they commit a disproportionate amount of the crime. The US is about 73% white, 13% black This is FBI data on arrests by race from 2017 https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2017/crime-in-the-u....

Looks like work is continuing up the side of MO 45. Good expansion of the network in Platte County
