Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

It is not yet clear with whom the Chiefs should negotiate their new lease: White and his staff, or the Hardwick Law Firm recently presumably hired to handle negotiations, or a newly formed stadium improvements committee within the Jackson County legislature. Separately, each of those entities has v...

I am aware that intermediate microwave stations closed. Not aware of any long line centers that closed without replacement. Care to provide examples?

Re: Southmoreland

If should easily qualify for a rezoning. If the neighborhood was serious about not wanting it gone, then they'd all pony up to save it. You can't expect someone with an offer for more money on the table, to go with the offer for less. Would you sell your own home for less? Excuse my daftness, but w...

Re: Southmoreland

Perhaps the Council should just vote NOW on whether they would or wouldn't agree to rezone the parcel BEFORE the demolition. If the owners don't get a commercial rezoning approved, then Birt's offer would be moot anyway and they could just put it on the residential market. That's the fastest way to...

A city entity choosing to kick the can down the road on a major development project. Shocker.

Re: Armory Block Redevelopment at 3620 Main

Why does it *Seem* like there has been very little develop on Main? You would think every block would have new projects on it with the street car coming in. Walking around Main in Midtown this summer it seemed pretty dead honestly. I mean, there have been massive proposals presented for Main Street...

Re: Lights on the new H&R Block building

Does anyone know why the light display on the H&R Block building does not work and if they can get it working again? It'd be a nice addition to the skyline these days.

Grid is someone I've always wanted to meet. Most the others are not really on here anymore, from what I know. Nick Benjamin would be on my list as well, but I'm not sure whether he still visits.

Re: Misc Crossroads News

It was absolutely insane how many homeless people were everywhere. Most kept to themselves but some where legit scary yelling at the air, on drugs or something, mentally unstable, etc and I didn't feel safe having my family around that. This is every night in the CBD for the past year now. I can't ...

Re: NBA to Kansas City

Somehow I don't buy that a $200 million 16-year-old arena is competitive with a $900 million brand-new arena. Sprint Center is frankly pretty close in age to what OKC has determined is too old/outdated for their needs. $900 million today is what $200 million 16 years ago was. Comparing costs is use...

Is that realistic? Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

My week was going too well so I decided to pop into the facebook group, "Save the K" and was sucked in by the absolute ignorance of the group. I respect those who simply don't want a new stadium for legit reasons. What I can't accept is the fact most of the people there refuse to think bi...

Re: Grand Blvd Closures

How would local control help get more officers hired? Our problem isn’t who controls the PD. It’s the lack of officers and the overall treatment of the police over the last few years has strongly contributed to no one wanting to be a cop. Why we dance around this reality is beyond me. People don't ...

https://tubitv.com/movies/100007132/the-devil-comes-to-kansas-city Excellent shots of KC! Lots of showing off the skyline from the riverfront at the 27 minute mark. The Western Auto skyline shot at 13:40 is just beautiful. It looks like most of the movie was shot in KC. Fun to guess the locations as...
