I used to be for downtown ball, but I just don't have any passion for it like I used to.
Do you have any passion for what the next generation, and beyond, would like to experience?
Better baseball, to start.

Re: Renovations of apartment buildings along Armour Blvd.

Here's an excerpt from a response I got from Robinson: "Until economic dev resulting in people aging in place happens at the same clip ALL these projects (in my view) are/should be under scrutiny. Thanks for your voice, while I value I disagree with some aspects; and so do many of my constituents."...

Re: Renovations of apartment buildings along Armour Blvd.

Yeah, I'm sure they are. It's what people do on those pages. Everyone I've talked to IRL is excited about the project, although I do think that there is a generational split on this project and I don't talk regularly with a lot of CHP boomers. When MAC had a large meeting on their previous plan, it ...

Re: Renovations of apartment buildings along Armour Blvd.

Very excited about how this project has shaped up. It's not 4 10-story buildings but the scale and parking ratios are all very good and are a great counterpoint to other proposed developments like the thing along the riverfront. Balancing requests from each of the three neighborhoods could not have ...

Re: Property Tax Assessments 2019

Those two are entirely new buildings. I watched them implode Paseo H.S. They also renovated a lot of existing buildings.

Re: Property Tax Assessments 2019

They built a bunch in the 1980's, with the deseg money. Central and Paseo HS both date from that era.

Re: Property Tax Assessments 2019

Is 1969 still the last bond issue that was passed? It was for a long time. If that's still true they probably didn't have much chance in the first place.

Re: Property Tax Assessments 2019

I'd hope that he would have lost it because he's secretive and combative... but you're probably right. But reducing the taxing rate is the school board's call. That's who I meant has escaped scrutiny.

It is strange how they have largely escaped scrutiny in all of this.

Re: Property Tax Assessments 2019

The value seems fair, even a little low compared to the appraisal we got this summer. So we are not fighting it. It was absurdly low for almost a decade.

If you are a 3rd or 4th District resident and are in favor of this project, it would be good for you to call or write to your council reps about this.

Re: Troost developments

I assume that HPNA either voted to oppose the project or voted to take no position. They have a clause in the bylaws that the NA cannot endorse a rezoning without the consent of all the neighbors within 200’ or so of a project. It would be a surprise if Harrison Blvd residents signed off on this. Fo...

Re: Troost developments

The entire 27th and Troost development was designed, built, and leased in less time than its taken Bowman to get his things in the 3100 block moving. In theory this block should be the easy piece of the puzzle but it hasn’t worked out that way.
