Re: Politics

What I asked is, with the implicit assumption that rural interests are not compatible with urban interests (where they are compatible, there's no conflict, so who cares), what is the argument that justifies privileging the rural interests over the urban interests in an urbanized country? Wasn't pri...

Re: Politics

The perception of being a red state isn't the problem. Red states have values. The problem is being perceived as a gullible bunch of dupes who fall for the cult leader's pussy-grabbing, value-free bullshit. Interesting. Still hung up on the fact he said he “could” grab a pussy but never has been pr...

I agree to the extent that such a sentiment is not used to justify holding massive superspreader events like it's no big deal.

Re: Politics

No, I'm acting like someone who has just tested positive for and been hospitalized with COVID shouldn't be doing any debates in two weeks. And to be fair, if you're going to get COVID and not die, Trump is in a lot of unfortunate demographic brackets putting him at significantly higher risk.

...and some people are saying that covid is a thing democrats give republicans when they aren't busy raping children in the basements of pizza parlors without basements. We have reached peak idiocy. Just end it. We lost. Democracy can't be a thing. All hail our Russian overlords.

Re: Politics

Yeah, given that Trump done got himself COVID (as I predicted, just surprised it took this long) and is in a fairly high-risk category based on being an old fatass who snarfs more McDonald's cheeseburgers than a millennial posts pictures of avocado toast on instagram, and Biden is just Biden time un...

Re: Politics

Sure, my point was more that it's hard to know which charges would have been most appropriate without the facts, and that the public deserves the facts in these situations. As an impartial (as I can be) observer who enjoys reading the back-and-forth and is occasionally swayed one way or the other on...

Re: Hawaiian Bros

I guess I'll try it again If you do, I'd recommend the Kilauea chicken. I've only had that and one other thing, and the other thing was so sweet it was like dessert chicken. But I thought the Kilauea was pretty good. I also rather like the macaroni salad, which I couldn't really put my finger on wh...

You guys seem to me to be arguing past each other a little bit, so I feel like it's my role as moderator ( not that kind of moderator, you idiot! ) to get things on track. I think we can all agree that her being killed is tragic. I further think we can probably agree that the violence in the wake of...

Re: Politics

No murder charges in Beronna Taylor case. IMO, correct call according to the law but cities are going to burn. I don't mean to sound like a complete lunatic, but this reads to me no different than, "I know Whitey done an injustice, but them laws Whitey wrote? They absolve him of culpability, theref...

Re: Politics

Whoa there Bessie. I didn't say democrats were blameless. I said republicans were obsessed with nonexistent voter fraud because their aim, which they have admitted over and over again, is to gin up white grievance ( they cheat!) and suppress minority voters. Which you completely ignored, ducked into...

Re: Politics

If it isn't clear to someone that republican obsession with nonexistent voter fraud is because they want to disenfranchise as many people who are unlikely to vote for them as possible--with the black vote being a relatively easily identifiable bloc of unlikely republican voters--then, like, I don't ...
