Re: Mark Twain Tower going residential?

There are at least three large parking garages within a block, which I have never seen full, but I have no idea if they're planning to lease spots in one. I can't imagine that building has any parking at the moment, but I have no idea. Surely someone around here knows more than I do.

Re: GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I won't say I predicted it, that would be too far, but I did mention to a friend at the start of Q2 that while I was sorely tempted to turn it off and go back to playing video games, I would kick myself for doing so in the unlikely event of an "epic Mahomes comeback". Now they just have to knock off...

I guess I just hang out with the wrong suburbanites. People who say things like, "If I had to take the bus to work I'd just not go in."

They were quite busy at lunch today, but the line moved reasonably quickly. The Italian Beef is decent. I'll probably go back, if I can remember it actually opened.

I've only tried Baramee once, but it was about the best Thai I've had in town, so that's exciting.

Re: Waddell & Reed - 14th & Baltimore

I'd rather have 4-6 story buildings as far as the eye can see connected by streetcar than some Dubai or Vegas shit where there are a reasonably impressive number of large towers but the street level experience is a complete sewer of massive parking structures, surface lots, and road infrastructure. ...

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!

I don't care if they spend some money on bike racks, I just think it's amusing. I can see the use case, I just can't see it happening in reality. I've already had to hear excessive bellyaching about how they're putting in bike lanes up north. BUT MAH TRAFFIC! MAH CAR!

Bless their hearts.

Re: We are getting a new airport!!!

I'd say put in one. Then if it ever gets used, which it won't, consider yourself lucky. Then in the particularly unlikely event that it is in use and some other person shows up with a bike, tell them they win the most improbable flyer award and name the airport after them.

Re: Amenities missing from downtown

Not sure I would call Grad School a diner. That said the Full Ride cheeseburger at Grad School may be the best burger I've ever eaten (not tried the Corvino/Ravenous counterpart, but want to!) I guess what is or is not a "diner" is a matter of more debate than I thought. Prefab type structure with a...

Re: KCMO Downtown Streetcar

I can't get on board with removing the North Loop stop. It doesn't get a lot of traffic at the moment, but if and when that sea of parking gets developed it should, and having the stop there would seem to incentivize said development to some degree. So I say keep it.
