Re: NYC Migrants Are Being Welcomed by Kansas City’s Mayor to Fill Jobs
^ First, the unemployment rate is around 4%. In a metro area like Kansas City that means 80,000 people in our area looking for a job that can’t find one. Second, the unemployment rate methodology is bogus. They’ve changed it to make it lower. Actually, only close to 67% of the available workforce i...

Re: OFFICIAL - Main Street Streetcar Extension
Starting to see the amount of space they are leaving for streetside parking along the route, I don't see how cars are going to fit in those spaces and not impede the train....and I'm all for it. Sly way to cut the parking without saying you're going to cut the parking?

Re: NYC Migrants Are Being Welcomed by Kansas City’s Mayor to Fill Jobs
The mayor said on TV yesterday that the migrants must have work permits. The action was taken because local employers have difficulty finding workers to fill positions. He also mentioned large construction projects that needed laborers. He means construction projects that need CHEAP laborers. There...

Re: NYC Migrants Are Being Welcomed by Kansas City’s Mayor to Fill Jobs
This is just Lucas planning for his political future. He's young enough he bolts for Washington or NYC and is just posturing favors for job paybacks down the road. Bunch is probably trying the same thing but I'm not sure he catches anything. Maybe, a transportation middle manager for Buttigeig.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
This would be the time where I hope NKC/Clay actually comes in and bids for the Chiefs. Now THAT would be golden site. Is it? Is there enough space? Unlike the Royals they will need a lot of parking to keep the tailgate atmosphere An All-county Missouri side vote that puts the Royals downtown and t...

Re: OFFICIAL - Main Street Streetcar Extension
Here is all of the track that I’ve seen needs to be laid to completion:
Pershing intersection northbound
Linwood intersection southbound
39th St intersection southbound
45th to Cleaver southbound
Just north of south terminus to Ward Pkwy -both directions

Re: Regional Transit Coordination
Well, that's her district, even if she is at large, and 3rd D needs help. I think she has more range and understands context. I have hope she will craft useful policies. I really don’t. She has a point of view more in line with 6 and 5, maybe even 1 and 2 than anything urban at all. I’d expect her ...

Re: Regional Transit Coordination
Patterson Hazley is not anti-development. I'm curious to know what kind of policies she is considering, which may include something for vacant buildings. I think she also plans to have a forum for developers to understand their roadblocks. If you follow her on X, she's very suburban-style developme...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If the Royals play well against the Mets and White Sox (next 6 games), the stands better be more full for the home stand against the Orioles. You don't know our pain as Royals fans. We are bitter fucks and will not believe they're winners until after the All Star break. I'd be happy to make it out ...

Smart. Get the team before you build the arena, otherwise you probably won’t get one.

Yep, they stuck their foot in the door and the Royals got mesmerized by a shiny ball that wasn't attainable.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
A lot of captured energy in Star press pavilion, which is actually quite beautiful despite being a disaster at the ground level. Would be a phenomenal waste of resources to demolish. I’ve felt this too though thought I was probably the only one. People need to have more vision for reusing buildings.

Re: T-Mobile Center (formerly Sprint Center)
KC misses out again. Arizona Coyotes going to Utah. Utah had an organized onwership group. Can't miss a shot you dont even take Article I saw said still negotiating with the NHL and they aren’t happy with the current Delta Center in SLC in its current setup. They do have support from their governor...

Re: Regional Transit Coordination
The density argument seems obvious to me and I'm not clear on what the disagreement is for bfa. Increased density = more people in the same space. A thousand people paying a tax will generate less money than ten thousand people paying the same tax. What am I missing here? I'm sure there is a tiny e...

Re: Regional Transit Coordination
When revenues under the current taxing rate increases, I am certain we will generally raise more total $ of taxes so that we can either improve existing services and infra or have more to spend on new investments (ie transit) Ok, I understand your point. I probably wouldn’t agree, but it’s beside t...
