Re: OFFICIAL - Strata (H&R Block's 2nd Tower)

The former Jos A Bank space and another space that's never been used isn't enough for a "grand lobby"? https://www.google.com/maps/@39.0982167,-94.5832212,3a,75y,268.69h,97.41t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sP0J7udVpVdcWlhOS3V3IXQ!2e0!6s%2F%2Fgeo3.ggpht.com%2Fcbk%3Fpanoid%3DP0J7udVpVdcWlhOS3V3IXQ%26output%3Dt...

Drastically raise the fee on utilities when they work on a road, place a metal plate.

Can cities pass gas taxes or is that state and federal only? How about a tax on convenience stores?

Re: Next Mayor 2019

Do we feel that the interim city manager that was just announced will be made permanent? I know that a search committee has been put in place, but that doesn’t mean they will not make the interim permanent. Personally, I’ll be disappointed if they do a national search and end up with someone from Ka...

Re: OFFICIAL - Strata (H&R Block's 2nd Tower)

The Garment District is operated by Cordish, so they won't give it up unless it's a great opportunity. They understand the importance of local retail. Because the district is thriving with that one remaining store? Can it even be called a district with one store. What store are you really worried a...

DCole said that space was larger than the One Light lobby. That seems sufficient, no?
No, a residential building with a couple hundred residents needing just a doorman and small waiting area for guests would be much smaller than a corporate lobby for many more employees and clients.

Re: OFFICIAL - Strata (H&R Block's 2nd Tower)

So the existing unused space to install a grand lobbey isn't enough? No, the unused section would just be large enough for possible up and down escalators to 2nd floor space, elevators and a guard desk. Even taking the Garment District wouldn’t make enough space for a lobby half as large as H&R Blo...

Re: OFFICIAL - Strata (H&R Block's 2nd Tower)

user I certainly think the currently empty space could be leased by Strata but obviously Yard House isn't going anywhere. The Garment District isn't going anywhere unless the offer is just too good to turn down. Cordish is getting hundreds of younger, well paid employees who will need a place to li...

Re: OFFICIAL - Strata (H&R Block's 2nd Tower)

The Garment District will be gone with Stratas construction and the retail in that block will be ammenity space for the company(ies) that will be in the building. What Cordish gets with the construction is full rent on the block from Strata at above price rents.

Re: OFFICIAL - East Village

It’s always talked about how stadiums bring restaurants and bars and increased traffic. I’m not so sure that’s the direct case. Stadiums increase transit options. Transit options increase traffic. So, a DT stadium is most exciting to me because it likely increases rail and other transit options to p...

Re: OFFICIAL - East Village

I don’t understand “East Village is better to be developed as a mixed use area”. It’s literally been decades. If it was going to happen, it would have happened. A new stadium jump starts the pace of growth DT exponentially not only will the east side of DT build out, everything between the stadium a...

Is 1969 still the last bond issue that was passed? It was for a long time. If that's still true they probably didn't have much chance in the first place.
That was probably the last time they built a new school.
