Re: Power and Light District Official Tenant List
I've made multiple requests to rent 3-4,000 sq ft. of retail space for a family friendly store. Cordish just blew us off. I can only guess it's because we aren't a national chain. this is infuriating and would love for the media to run with a story like this. I really think they just want the whole...

Article in the Kansas City Business Journal today stating that a few developers have inquired about taking the Nordstrom land and building apartments. Apparently, Taubman/ Macerich (Simon) is not interested. https://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/news/2023/04/26/country-club-plaza-nordstrom-apartme...

Crony Area Transportation Authority
Need to clean house with these fools and hire people that actually care about transportation and the people that rely on it.

What do folks think about Cordish bringing in Barnes & Noble along Main?
B&N is in expansion mode (at the moment) doing well with smaller stores (see Adams Dairy Parkway) with local book buyers. I don't like B&N but Cordish isn't gonna go with an indie.

Re: KC in TV and Movies
It's the most Kansas City comment ever to pile on and rip the film Kansas City to sheds. It was brutal afterward from people mostly in the trade. I hope you realize how pathetically pretentious this sounds. So you were basically in the audience with Harvey Weinstein? I got the impression that Robert...

I feel like the new sushi place could be successful in a location even bigger than the t.Loft space. If it's properly executed, it will be a massive hit for the region-- on the level of the hibachi grills back in the day. Kinda interesting no one has tried it in KC before. Crown Center should open ...

Forget KC Tenants, I want to hear the arguments from people here that condone turning 'affordable housing' into parking. Did I read that right?

Anyone have recommendations on existing systems to study or books regarding interurban rail or bus systems? Not necessarily local to KC, but I'm looking or existing or historical models. Specifically, I'm looking at systems that primarily connect higher education institutions, airports, and medical ...

Re: KC in TV and Movies
“Mr. and Mrs. Bridge” was a Ward Parkway film, “Kansas City” an 18th and Vine film. Different worlds different movies. I think Altman’s film was a tough valentine to his hometown. How can a city with such a rich black musical heritage still have as strict a dividing line as Troost? Like the City, t...

People keep mentioning the flooring. How did they mess that up? That should be on whoever chose the flooring type. They should be forced to replace it with something fit for an airport. Probably cheaped out on the flooring materials. You can take the girl out of the Nissan Altima but you cannot tak...

cool idea for a thread - I loved MIL in Bridesmaids too. Paris Je T'aime - yeah it's Paris, but th...

All will be forgiven for Dillard's, if having a larger department store means additional luxury stores (LV, Gucci) along Nichols Road. I know most of us will never buy/step foot in places that sell $2000 sweaters, but it's still an economic draw for the City to have some big label shopping for folk...

I'm fine with the Aerial Lift. I actually think it's a good idea. I just think the West Bottoms is probably decades from being buit out enough to really justify it. But if it they can pull it off, I'm for any sort of transportation infrastructure investment. West Bottoms is today what Xroads was in...
