Re: Three Trails Industrial Park

Building 3 (8701 Elmwood) is going up now and will be close to 500k sq/ft. If you visit the link in my first post of this thread you can see how the plans have changed (thanks AlbertHammond for posting a screen grab of the original plans). The first two buildings are far enough away from the propose...

Re: Official: 87th Street Bioscience Park

Oxford on the Blue has a website now: http://www.oxfordontheblue.com Some utility work has taken place on 87th St near the entrance to the site of the former Modot facility but I don't know if it was related to this project. I can say however that at that same entrance is now a large wooden sign for...

Three Trails Industrial Park

Construction on The Three Trails Industrial Park just south of 87th St between US-71 and I-435 has been underway for several months now and building 1 already has two tenants: Commonwealth Inc, and Boulevard. Right now there are two buildings: 8700 Elmwood and 8750 Elmwood(which is just an empty she...

Re: Boulevard Brewery to boost fermentation tank capacity by 20 percent

I could have sworn there was a thread somewhere that mentioned the new distribution warehouse for Boulevard at 87th and US71...if there is I can't find it. Anyway...I found some info on the building http://www.commonwealthinc.com/locations/kansas-city-warehouse . Construction isn't finished yet, I t...

Re: Do you have or plan to get Google Fiber?

not nitpicking, but my first impression of the branding was that it looks like an upside down robot(in the style of the android logo)

Re: JaCo Translational Medicine Sales Tax

Based on how much political mail there was just for this one question, I was expecting the results to be closer to 60/40. Although I don't have the official count of either mailings, it seems to me like there was more vote yes than vote no flyers and the most of the vote yes ones were larger. The fi...

Re: JaCo Translational Medicine Sales Tax

At 10:30 this morning I was the only voter at 47th and Ash. One other showed up while I was there and about 5 more came as I was leaving the parking lot. Two electioneers, one for each side. edit: the first unofficial results from jcebmo.org say 1141 NO to 667 YES. still a long way to go before all ...

Re: Google picks KCK/KCMO for ultra fast fiber network

utility crews are in Stayton Meadows(just south and east of Arrowhead Stadium) doing prep work for google fiber. I talked to one of the utility workers that put new anchors on the pole in my back yard to confirm this. Also a few months back while working in Marlborough, some workers there said that ...

Re: KCMO Street Signs

Saw this mis-printed sign today. Agnes Ave is 3000 E, not 300 E. I haven't really paid that much attention to the new signs so I don't know if it's just this one, or if all the Agnes signs are wrong. Also I didn't see any other new lowercase letter Agnes signs in this area. The one at 68th is a real...

I don't know if this was on google maps since the I-49 update, and I didn't see anyone else post about it: If you zoom in far enough and look at Bruce R Watkins/71 from 74th st to 51st st you will see the I-49 markers along a route they have labeled as "(planned)". It would be great to see...

Re: Google picks KCK/KCMO for ultra fast fiber network

I saw a couple of contractors doing surveying in Marlborough on 81st street today. They said they were doing measurements on each utility pole in the area for google fiber. So still a ways to go before the fiber is actually installed in the area. Also I believe this neighborhood was well below its q...

Re: KC Star paywall goes into effect in December

I know you said "and many more", but don't forget the weekly grocery ads. I don't have an exact number but I think it's around 750k they print every week. Since they print so much other stuff, my guess is that these grocery ads get the least amount of attention. Some are mangled up, others...

Re: KC in TV and Movies

I just saw a story on fox4 about a time capsule being buried at the newly renovated gate at Janssen Place. One of the things they put in there was a silent movie from the 1920s that was filmed there. Does anyone know the name of the movie? I want to see if I can find it on archive.org.

Re: Bike Racks at Quick Trip

Although c-store owners might lose out on some sales from pay at the pump, it can also help them. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I very rarely go in and buy something when I stop for gas(maybe once or twice a year). If there was no pay at the pump I would have to go in and make the line to the re...
