Re: Seriously - how much longer does Carl Peterson have ???

Carl Peterson has ONE responsibility and ONE responsibility only. To make money for Lamar Hunt and his family. It is cavaet #1 for any President, CEO, whatever. Make money for the owners (or shareholders if that is the case) Anyone who doesn't see that is a moron. If the Chiefs win games, playoff ga...

Re: NHL OR NBA, let the message board decide!!

i am still waiting for quotes from aeg, mayor barnes, or anyone else prominent that said yeah, we will get a major sports tenant. Um, yes she did. In a July 19 article in the Star, she said “I am totally confident that AEG has been and will continue to do what is necessary to secure a NBA or NHL ...

Re: NHL OR NBA, let the message board decide!!

Yeah, that is what I said. Where do you get that from my post? Someone said AEG may not be able to deliver a major league tenant, but it definitely has a track record of filling dates with events, concerts, etc. Do they? So they can get shows at Staples Center...it's LA. How will they do in middle A...

Re: NHL OR NBA, let the message board decide!!

AEG books for the Great Western Forum in LA (former home of the Lakers). There is no major sports tenant that I know of there. OTOH, how hard could it be to book acts for LA? Oops. Spoke too soon, there Max. Inglewood's Ailing Forum Blames Owner of Staples http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-foru...

Re: JoCo residents to vote on youth soccer fields / Wizards stadium in OP

ODAC and CBAC in Olathe are two possibilities. What kind of surface do that have at ODAC now? It used to be grass. Isn't it surrounded by a track, too, therefore making it too narrow? I've never been to College Blvd Athletic Complex (CBAC). I would think CBAC and ODAC have the same limitations as S...

Re: NHL OR NBA, let the message board decide!!

Does Sprint pay less for its naming rights if the arena isn't home to an NHL or NBA franchise? Yes, a KC Biz Journal story in 2004 said this: K.C.'s case, this would be especially problematic, as Sprint's $62.5 million naming-rights offer drops by $20 million if no big-league tenant is present, ope...

Re: NHL OR NBA, let the message board decide!!

Fingold's deal to purchase the Penguins may not happen. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/news/cityregion/s_468353.html Bad for KC as Fingold is the only hope of getting an NHL team. And that hope is slim anyway. The NHL must approve relocation. League officials have said they prefer to...

Re: Downtown Mission/ The Gateway

I really wish they had some way to get across SMP between Lamar and Nall -- or Nall and Roe. There is no way I'm letting my daughter cross SMP on foot or on her bike until she is at least 20. It's just way too dangerous. Therefore, I need to cart her rear from our house in Mission south of SMP to th...

I would never wish sprint to leave town I wish from the bottom of my heart that they had done something different than that campus, but come on. You do realize that Sprint has been a Kansas company for, oh, about a 100 years. It started out as Brown Telephone in Abilene. A soccer-specific stadium, ...

Re: pens to kc rumors fire up again!

There is precedent I believe however. The Whalers had decent attendance in the years before they left, but an awful arena that did precipitate their move. Well, you technically can’t use a former WHA team as precedent. The NHL never wanted to be in Hartford, Quebec City or Winnipeg in the first p...
