Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?
The negative and misleading No campaign by KC Tenants didn't affect my vote. I voted No in response to the terrible, disorganized, and misleading Yes campaign managed by Jeff Roe of Ron DeSantis fame. My decision was finalized when I saw the "Radical Liberals are Hellbent On Taking The Chiefs A...

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project
Just saying that the river could be a greater recreational and aesthetic resource to KC if it were not managed for the benefit of the barge companies. Without facts concerning tonnage now transported I remain unconvinced regarding environmental trade-offs; just as the environmental benefits of dam r...

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project
What exactly comes through the port in KC? I didn't think it was big enough to handle a lot of tonnage...? Low value commodities with minimal urgency. Slag, asphalt, coal, steel, scrap, grains, fertilizers, limited fuels Nothing that couldn't be transported by rail. What's the economic benefit to K...

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?
FWIW. There was a referendum/vote a few years back where the shortsighted residents of Brookside rejected the extension of the streetcar to 63rd Street. They were not convinced that the streetcar could co-exist with the beloved Trolley Trail path. I don't think a Brookside Boulevard option was being...

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?
Where is the Chamber? Downtown Council? Midtown Council? Civic Council? Are they paying attention? KC Tenants has a great chance of putting two people on the city council in April. They'll kill the Downtown Stadium along with other good projects if given the opportunity.

Listed on the National Register. Terrazzo floors in all halls, marble wainscoting in the 2nd floor hallways. 10' ceilings, big windows. Two, 2-bedroom apartments on the north end of the 5th floor are in the former surgical rooms and have enormous skylights (visible from West Paseo) from the wall int...

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?
KC Tenants has targeted Clemmons after its recent acquisition of the historic Residences at West Paseo senior apartments (27th Street). It appears they stirred up the residents with fears of gentrification to get them to unionize. Instead of focusing on what are recent property management concerns, ...

Re: Is KC Tenants destroying the development future of downtown KCMO?
With the Lux development going forward without an affordable component, KC Tenants has prevented the addition of over 100 new or rehabilitated affordable apartments at Lux and Armour/Main.

Very impressive urban development. The Chase Bank branch in the Westover is part of a nationwide expansion and has a focus on assisting minority home buyers with down payment grants and affordable loans. The bank and the grocery store are terrific additions to the neighborhood.

I guess I'd like to have the stop a few feet west and not remove the park feature? It also could be moved south along the roadway and displace the head-in parking. After all, isn't that the point?

Can Butch get The Strand theater? It would be nice to eliminate this nuisance and have a art movie house in the neighborhood. Also, the amount of Abnos ownership on Troost may be be a serious stumbling block to general revitalization.

This forum is for discussion of development, not the promotion of false and dangerous stereotypes. The Lux development wasn't a TIF request. Asparagus stalks?
