Re: OFFICIAL - City Club Apartments (former Midwest Hotel)

Howard Hanna will be opening two restaurants there next year - a natural wine bar and a diner. This Feast article goes into a good amount of detail about both concepts.

Wait til the skateboarders see that concrete bench.
They can always adjust what doesn't work.
It's working...as far as the skateboarders are concerned; eleven people were either on boards or taking videos of other people doing things on boards when I ran past there earlier today.

Re: Sprint Campus redevelopment

The algorithm behind this particular bot apparently hasn't been updated since the late '90s and has failed to account for a) there are vanishingly small differences among regional/national chains and b) online shopping exists.

I really hope there's a pattern in the new terminal that becomes so beloved that I'll be able to buy a toilet cover with that pattern on it in 2040 or so.

Re: Fantasy Retrofits: Barney Allis Plaza

My memories are a little fuzzy on this, but UP's railroad subsidiary was headquartered in Omaha that entire time in the 90s when the corporate parent's (much smaller) HQ was bouncing around the country. If there's any substance to that rumor (particularly if the railroad HQ were to relocate), it wil...

Re: Bike Lanes

Now how do we get that info into Google maps so when I want bike directions it actually uses bike paths??? Google Maps' edit turnaround times have been glacial since the start of the pandemic - I submitted an update on May 20 to add the trail connection between Cliff Drive and Columbus Park. I just...

Other than detours around the office buildings at Crown Center and having to cut back to the west at the south end, Grand-McGee Trafficway-Gillham has reasonably gentle gradients overall.

It’s a shame there aren’t any examples from elsewhere that demonstrate how to handle a pandemic. A pity, even. We’ll never know what could have worked.

Or maybe there is a better Jackson to name it after.
FWIW, there is a precedent for that route.

Re: EV charging in condo garages

A sizeable fraction of downtown garages have EV chargers; based on this map, there's at least 50 charger locations in the greater downtown area, most of which are in garages.

The only public spot downtown I can think of offhand is on SW Blvd just east of Broadway, but I'm sure there are more.

It's Wyoming's contribution to America's vibrant fast-food landscape - how could you have missed hearing about it? :-)

Younger me had a soft spot for the caloric content per dollar provided by the Six Pack and a Pound combo, tho.

BKS had been open Friday through Sunday (and the occasional Thursday) pre-pandemic, but those hours were still pretty limited when compared to other brewery taprooms.

BKS is absolutely killing it lately with their New England IPA releases- I'd put them up against any brewery in the country that specializes in the style

We'll see how strong my willpower to avoid in-person social interaction turns out to be, but "when hospitals allow visitors again" seems like a good off-the-cuff estimation of qualitative risk. (Of course, the thought of "if only I lived alone, I'd try to find a foolproof way of contracting COVID-19...

Is this a financing/developer issue or is there a real lack of demand? I believe it's the former; to the best of my knowledge (source: memories from a one-hour presentation I went to a year ago about condo buying put on by the DNA), lending requirements are higher on both the condo buyer and the ow...

It still did good business on event nights, but it had become noticeably less busy at other times. While all other Flying Saucer locations (other than the one inside DFW) are operated by their corporate parent, KC’s became a franchise operated by Cordish last fall. There are many more beer options f...
