Re: Renovations of apartment buildings along Armour Blvd.

Re: Troost developments
The Marquette Club would also be a good candidate for Mac Properties to renovate and combine with the new buildings on the corners of Armour and Troost. Didn't they make an offer and he countered with an offer significantly above market? I seem to recall them calling his bluff IIRC that's how Abnos...

Hard agree with you, CrossroadsUrbanApts. Their hearts are in the right place but boy howdy do they have some funky means.

Re: Troost developments
The standard media protocol is to 1. ignore Troost 2. report breathlessly on crimes and 3. complain about new developments. Stalled and complicated development doesn't really fit into any of those categories.

Re: Troost developments
I think those old retail spaces between Linwood and 31st Street would fill up if they could just get them done. They've left so many of those buildings open to the elements now that I worry about further deterioration and squatters starting fires. IIRC the other side of the street is actually getti...

Re: Westport High School re-use - market rate housing proposed
Is that surface lot between the former Fast Stop and the school building going to be resident parking, or will that get developed as well? https://www.google.com/maps/place/Cultivate+KC+Westport+Commons+Farm/@39.0575711,-94.5831195,170a,35y,180h,44.98t/data=!3m1!1e3!4m6!3m5!1s0x87c0efebf282673d:0x2...

Do the same developers own the former Fast Stop a little further west on 39th?

Re: Westport
Warwick Theater isn't my scene, really, but I'm bummed it burned. It's a cool unique addition to the streetcar route (that's not a restaurant, bar, or tax prep place). At least one person on /r/kansascity heavily implied the fire was intentional BECAUSE of its location on the streetcar route. Oh bro...

Re: Troost developments
Still nothing happening with apartments at 27th, nothing at Linwood, and the "Troost Village" blight on the east of the 3100 block. I'm pissed, but I hope MAC finishing up the Troost & Armour corner (and the eventual completion of Reconciliation Services at 31st and Troost) will spur ...

Agreed. That location has been going downhill for awhile, but it's definitely leaving a void.

Re: Renovations of apartment buildings along Armour Blvd.
FWIW Community Groceries is finally "actually" open. Apparently they hit a few road blocks during their first "grand opening" in December, so they had another "grand opening" last week. A little deli counter in the back, tons more selection, and even a spot for a tiny c...

Re: Katz on Main
Regarding KC Tenants, I'm reminded of a G.K. Chesterton quote: "He could not help falling into that besetting sin or weakness of the modern progressive, the habit of regarding contemporary questions as eternal questions and the latest words as the last."

FWIW Community Groceries at Armour and Troost is having a grand opening thing today at 11 am. Here's their press release: "Community Groceries, a trailblazing initiative committed to eradicating food inequality, is set to unveil its flagship store on December 9th, 2023, at 3501 Troost Ave, Kans...

I thought we were discussing KC Tenants and debating their methods. Mean took quiet a left turn up there.
