Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
Why start in the 40s though? From Justin Meyer on Twitter (I remember he explained it some time ago): Justin Meyer @JustinMeyerKC Skipped numbers on Concourse A to maintain even/odd symmetry (even numbered gates on west side, odd numbered on east side) and to allow for future growth. Also made sure...

Re: OFFICIAL: Power & Light District
How does the P&L district handle events like the Super Bowl? I would think that there would be far more people that want to be there than the place can accommodate? Is it hard to get in for major events like this? People need to purchase a ticket to enter the event. https://www.powerandlightdis...

Re: OFFICIAL - Buck O'Neil Bridge
That's not the section to lower. It's the southernmost section that's built up on embankment -- 3rd to I-70. Thanks for the clarification, and that does make more sense since I deluded myself into thinking that the plan is to lower it right at the start of the bluff (between Cold Storage Lofts and ...

Re: OFFICIAL - Buck O'Neil Bridge
Another blunder that the city should highly consider correcting is bringing the Heart of America approach down to grade level through the River Market and reconnect the River Market with Columbus Park. Eliminating the cloverleaf at the north loop and Heart of America approach would free up more spa...

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project
Really wish they could figure out a way to make the Lydia RR crossing more viable. Trains sit there constantly (or going 1 MPH) making it unusable. NE Industrial could be much better used if they could figure out that crossing. I know it may not be a priority for the city, but I wonder how much it ...

Re: Westport
I've had guests complement KC all week but have had several mention the roads especially in Westport look like shit. One guy compared it to Mexico City. I really wish the city would invest more in improvements. I think it's hard for KC since it has a large geographic area with a small population to...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
1) on the connector between A & B they should make the roof on either side a green roof, or optimally- put up tall glass barriers and some fixed seating and make it an outdoor amenity. Which I know air quality is trash and it would be loud as hell out there, but it's something to put it over th...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
Whoever gets the job, even if it’s Justin, the explicit expectation needs to be to bring a European nonstop with a timeframe for it to happen. This isn’t a “make sure the bathroom are cleaned and buses running” maintenance of the new airport type of position. I agree. Thinking too small. Revenue gr...

I recall Justin was part of the team that got Lufthansa (Eurowings) to Tampa airport. He does have international connections, but I understand what you mean. Whoever gets the job, even if it’s Justin, the explicit expectation needs to be to bring a European nonstop with a timeframe for it to happen...

Sherman essentially saying they're doing this with the Chiefs? "Sherman declines to put a timeline on making a decision on a stadium site. "We're working with the @Chiefs as well and at some point they will be part of this process."" https://twitter.com/todpalmer/status/16411022...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
Meyer has experience with that when he was given a budget and community support. It might be that Meyer was held back by Klein, I just think you need someone who can close a deal. Meyer is a great city and KCi advocate, but it’s going to take a relationship to close a big transatlantic deal, someon...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Is that garage next to the East Village Apartments ever completely filled? When I lived downtown till the spring of 2015, I used to park there on the public side, and I recall that I was able to get the last public spot left shortly after it opened (not sure what year that was). However, most of th...

For now. Van Trust still hasn't taken possession of that parcel and several parking lots, which all share the same ownership. The building to the west of this one now has fencing around It. I saw it this past Sunday, but it wasn't there a few weeks ago. I noticed "caution tape" around it ...

Re: OFFICIAL: Port Authority Riverfront Project
I was working in Cincinnati over the summer and loved the activation and liveliness the park offered to those living and visiting. I spent much time at the park as it was a great outdoor space. I sent pictures/ideas from Smale to Jon and PortKC... I never heard back. Ours should be more than just a...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
I agree about the signage, and they had ample news media for the past couple of weeks where they could have made the public more aware of the changes in pickup and drop-offs. Imagine the outcry if the airport authority had publicly advertised that pick up and drop off at a new terminal wouldn't be ...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
I see the arrivals are already having congestion issues in the garage. I'm telling you, they need to move the rental car buses and maybe economy parking buses to a designated spot on the curb right at the terminal. That would make those buses more convenient and free up space in the garage lanes. M...
