Re: COVID19
For being under a lockdown, Loose Park sure had some decent activity today.

Re: COVID19
The majority of deaths seem to be elderly people or people with already weakend immune systems.
Those who have had the virus and recovered are usually under 65.
But yeah, with events cancelling and countries closing, it's like we're living in a movie.

A Grain Valley resident told me Grain Valley is getting a White Castle. But I haven't been able to confirm that anywhere.

Re: Black leaders seek to rename Paseo to MLK Blvd
Since the city saved the Paseo signs, why don't they keep the MLK signs and re-name another street?
They could also sell the MLK signs and try to recoup some of the $100,000+ lost on this fiasco.

Re: Black leaders seek to rename Paseo to MLK Blvd
KCMO residents vote to change the name back to the Paseo.
Vote was about 70% YES, 30% NO.

Re: KU-MU rivalry reborn?
Looks like the rivalry could be coming back in football too. Dave Matter tweet: Jim Sterk also said Missouri and Kansas are getting closer to finalizing a football series, with the first couple games probably at Arrowhead in KC. Mizzou is scheduled out into the 2030s but can move some games around. ...

Re: Interstate 70 KC to St Louis
Perhaps one thing that would help with passing would be making I-70 three lanes between Kansas City and St. Louis. I have wanted to see that for a long time. I-70 is probably the most important part of Missouri's highway system and KC and STL are large enough cities (with Columbia in the middle) to ...

Re: KC in TV and Movies
Several years ago, NBC had the made-for-TV movie "Asteroid." An asteroid is headed for Kansas City. It hits the "Freeman Dam", causing water to flow down the mountain and flood downtown Kansas City (downtown Denver shown). There was major damage at "3rd & Olive" and at "24th and Market Street". To h...

Re: Politics
Not a lot to predict in a primary election. Not sure how Prop A will turn out. The ballot wording itself favors a "YES" vote. But I have only seen "vote NO" signs. So it's probably a matter of who's more passionate to turn out. If that's the case, the results typically favor people who vote no or ag...

Re: Branson
It really makes me question if I want to do any kind of Tourist Related activities (Boat Tour, Go Karts, Carnivals, Amusement Parks, Water Parks) ever again in the State of Missouri and Kansas with their lack of oversight. I understand why'd you be questioning that. But do you really think Missouri...

Re: World Cup 2026 at Arrowhead?
I'm a little concerned that the condition of Arrowhead may also work against Kansas City. Even after the renovations, there's not much of a "wow" factor at Arrowhead, at least not when compared to the competition. Arrowhead does have an advantage in terms of size. But looks at what it's up against: ...

Re: Politics
It was a policy that could have been changed at any time by Trump. It didn't require any action by Congress. But, this is what I don't understand: If it was policy that could have been changed anytime by Trump, then what was the point of the executive order? Why wouldn't Trump just change the polic...

Re: Politics
So the Dems have told Trump they aren't willing to work with him on the border issue so he can clean up his own mess. I have mixed feelings about that. On the one hand, I agree that if it's Trump's mess, they aren't obligated to help him clean it up. On the other hand, I feel if Democrats care about...

Re: Politics
Ok, there's a lot to respond to and I only have a short of amount of time to post, so here's my best attempt with time constraints: I don't think that if the same thing happened while Obama was president, then it was Obama merely "dropping the ball." It should have been an outrage then too. Nobody i...

Yes, they hid the cages full of kids for 8 years despite gop congressional oversight for 6 of them. Re: Politics
This has been going on at the border for decades. While it's sad and shocking, it's really not "news," is it? So why is it making news now? Well... Trump's approval rating is highest it's ever been (according to "The Hill"). The economy is the best in decades. Black unemployment is at an all-time lo...

No laws were broken by these kis or there parents. It's not illegal to seek asylum. They came to the front door and knocked. 1. I do not believe it illegal to seek asylum. Neither is taking away these kids from their parents. If border patrol believe the adults are a threat to the kids (among other...
