Re: COVID & Carryout

Been doing a lot of take out at the breweries. Prices are basically the same if u ordered a beer or 2 there. The local beer community support has been outstanding

Re: COVID & Carryout

How was Bristol Carryout, I was worried about fish getting cold. Do they wrap in foil? I wanted to do this one weekend We did Affare take out and was impressed with the offerings, I really think upscale places have got to hurting the most cause good food and takeout doesnt sound great. Fogo de Chao ...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

I read that Punch Bowl Social (the entire chain) is in dire straits due permanent casualty of the corona virus. The article states there are concerns regarding the viability of a concept anyway. Did the plaza version of the chain ever get opened? https://www.restaurantbusinessonline.com/financing/c...

Re: COVID19

I don't know, nobody is really taking this that seriously. If anything it could increase people living in urban areas because I feel like rents on apartments and commercial really estate are going to drop. From a jobs standpoint the harder hit areas are the more suburban Sunbelt cities. Boston, nyc,...

Re: COVID19

Markets and industries expected to be economically impacted most by COVID. KC and STL expected to be hit harder than places like MSP and upper Atlantic. Apparently because of ties to transportation. No surprise to see Vegas and Orlando among hardest to be hit. I could see a sort of Exodus in Vegas ...

Re: COVID19

I don't even really care anymore if we have economic collapse. After this, we will just keep making the same mistakes, people will still keep consuming more and people/business will have loads of debt and the government will just keep bailing everyone out until it all collapses, it's like a huge pyr...

Re: COVID19

When we do get back going I can see Commercial Real Estate taking a huge hit unless rents go down as a result. Entire offices are working from home and I guarantee you they are more productive or as productive than going into the office.

Re: COVID19

I hope this pandemic gets it through peoples heads that we need a radically improved social safety net in this country. I'm sure we will get one for the businesses, we socialize risk in this country and privitize profits. Cruise Ships should get nothing, they are based in other countries now to avo...

Re: COVID19

The thing that was so troubling for me since 2008 is that a huge chunk of this "growth" is mainly tied to government spending. Its like the only way something gets done is if you have huge government spending tied to it. I think Gov't spending to GDP is like 45% and its likely to go over that now

Re: COVID19

Am back in Florida, flew down yesterday for a family emergency (not COVID related). Very few are following the rules here. Beaches are busy, crowds form everywhere, some grocery stores are so busy that long lines form to get in, many restaurants not following 50% capacity rule. As mentioned, Asia a...

Re: COVID19

The thing that makes no sense is that Japan did not do this and they are very close to China. China did not do this expect for one city and they seemed to have managed it very well. The whole thing seems mind boogling to me. Could this all be some big hoax about climate change? Like if it only took ...

Re: COVID19

Hospitals pretty much have full kitchens/restaurants, the way hospitals re-desgined for full catering they kind of hurt restaurants now Corporations that are going to be hurt badly in KC are: AMC BB Theaters (KC has too many theaters anyway) Populous - We might have to re-think as a society about la...
