Re: KC School District Buildings... Reuse?
I thought that since Westside Housing Org was one of the partners with the more dense plan and they have been working on the Westside for a long time they would be selected.

I liked the plan that had more density too. I liked the idea of underground parking I was disappointed too but as a former resident I rather see something going that nothing at all.

Re: Status and future of the River Market area??
I just wish we'd see the condo market start coming back. That, or 3 bedroom attached homes, or something a bit more for a family. Someday my fiancee and I will have to give up the condo for a bigger place and I'm slightly dreading leaving downtown/river market area. Look at the south side of the We...

I would not call it revival but at least the city finally put some money in Downtown. It seems to me that all the $$ is going to the legends.

That is a great idea plus you save on the membership too. There are apartment dwellers in our downtown, who co-op on commodity purchases from Costco.

Re: Westside happenings
Fang some of those lots are owned by Westside Housing and some by Dean Realty, it seems that nothing can be done with a lot of those lots as one lot is owned by Dean the next one by Westside Housing and for what I heard neither wants to sell. I heard from a coupleof guys that work at Westside Housin...

Re: Westside happenings
The south part of the Westside is still pretty affordable. The houses will need more work, but for example around 28th and Jarboe a 2 story house with 3 bedroom one bath sold for 62K I think. The house next door to me (need work) the owner offered to me for 30k, it is a 2 bedroom house.

Re: Westside happenings
I talked to a couple of guys that bought a house and a lot on Jarboe (around 28th) they said they looked into it but they beliebe a couple of the houses really need to come down. That said the viewcould be pretty good.

I love coding it is fun and I am not joking and I can be coding all day long when I am having fun. That said 85,000 for 80 hrs a week while it is really great money, you are really getting paid 21 dls an hour.
May as well get a 65K where you work 40 hours a week.

Zona Rosa should add more appartments not suew if they have space to do it but maybe on top of some of the parking garages. Adding 3 floors of appartments would be awesome plus they would have some potential clients right there.

Re: Housing- selling low
I know the Westside has changed quite a bit in the last few years. I used to visit back in 2000 and moved in 2004 (south part of the Westside). Even with the changes it is really a tiny area that may be expensive, where I live I can buy the house next door for 30K (2 bedroom). Even the north part of...

I rather see them close to Zona Rosa and the airport. The new shopping area where Best Buy, Targe and Home Depot are would be good, I think it is nort of 152 and east of I-29. I think makes sense for them since they would be close to the airport and customers would have a good place to hang out afte...
