Re: 1822 Main Redevlopment

At the very least the facade could be saved and incorporated in-place into the exterior of a larger building built behind it. It is handsome and unique. I would think it would add value/character which you couldn't buy with modern construction materials and methods.

Users have also figured out how to use the tires to create scuff marks all over the sidewalks. They are getting creative. I saw a fairly accurate portrayal of male genitalia at one location.

There is a new application on Compass for rezoning 506 E 31st Street (Velvet Freeze) to Urban Redevelopment. There are no real details or plans on Compass. The only hint might be that Clockwork Architecture is involved. https://compasskc.kcmo.org/EnerGov_Prod/SelfService#/plan/362c7537-fe2e-497d-be...

Re: Three Light

The project does not have a 13th floor so this tower is actually 25 floors + mechanical floor + pointed crown. So stupid. I haven't been in a high rise for years that actually does have a 13th floor. Triskaidekaphobia is alive and well. My old condo downtown at 10th & Baltimore was on floor 13. His...

Re: Freight House Podium Project - 20th and Walnut

I'm not crazy!! Thanks for finding that.
It could possibly be accomplished with an easement alone, allowing the building to be built on stilts in the air space above the little bit of surface parking in the southern tip of the Home2Suite's property.

Re: Freight House Podium Project - 20th and Walnut

They need to do a land swap with the Home2Suites owners so they can have more frontage the build along on Main Street. Maybe they are/were considering this. I think one of the earlier massing renders showed a smaller building between the Home2Suites and the Podium project. This also could give the ...

Progressive Field (Cleveland), Coors Field (Denver) points due north from home plate, Target Field (MPLS) due east, Miller Park (Milwaukee) and Guaranteed Rate Field (Chi Sox) southeast, Wrigley (Chi Cubs) northeast. Looks like you can orient it anywhere from due north clockwise to due south. I'm no...

I really wanted to like the townhouses but they aren't setup great and the whole neighborhood feels isolated from the rest of downtown so I'm passing. Maybe the end ones would have been worth it. Interesting, because we really liked the layout - i need an office so i'll be using the first floor bed...

I also worry about the Queen Anne style building on the corner of Main; It does not seem to be occupied or maintained, but is such a cool landmark for the area. Are the owners hoping to blight it so they can tear it down?
Yes. I believe it is Price Brothers who own it.
