^speaking of Brioche...are they ever coming back in new digs? I figure they kept their kitchen equipment in the move-out. They were amazing.

Re: Westport

The "original core" was gone. Much of the remaining structure was modern (by building standards). The stoutest thing there was the bank vault, and that was just a heap of concrete. It was a good looking *functional* Westport period building that should not have been torn down. The Opus project coul...

Re: Martini Corner near 31st/Gilham

Martini Corner is the marketing term for four restaurants along 31st between Oak and Gilham Rd. (was five, one closed) Three have a 31st St address, one a Gilham Rd address. None front Gilham Plaza. They're on three different corners to make it more confusing. Nothing else is part of Martini Corner...

^^ i was referring to the underlined: New historically accurate front doors have gone in. Gorgeous. This is not just an adaptive re-use, but an historical restoration. Nelle Peters would be pleased that her creation lives on, so appropriate that a woman owned business and a womens's organization are...

Re: Martini Corner near 31st/Gilham

Why don't they work on filling that stripmall across the street. There has been nothing in those buildings since the Liquor store left and the one buiding was used for political HQ for someone Same property owner as all the other vacant retail property on the perimeter of Union Hill. <rumor>I hear ...

Re: Three Light

I notice that unlike Two Light, they are planning balconies on the entire south facade of Three Light. I thought the reason balconies were not included on the lower half of Two Light's south facade was due to some regulation with the highway noise. Could it be that a highway cap announcement is expe...

Re: Martini Corner near 31st/Gilham

Anyone know how amenable the neighborhoods will be to this? I think a lot in the neighborhood are happy to have some of the Union Hill retail move into someone else's hands, other than Bob Frye who until now owned everything. I know some aren't happy with the empty retail along McGee Trfy and Gillh...

Re: Martini Corner near 31st/Gilham

The rendering in Collison's article looks like the parking entrances will not be replaced. It shows the elevated patio spanning over them between the buildings and fronting 31st street. I'd rather see small infill buildings fronting the street, then they could have a larger lot in the back instead o...

Re: OFFICIAL - Waddell & Reed - 14th & Baltimore

Whoever is driving the ground-level design, it's as if they've not spent much time downtown at all. They're proposing an environment that will be a gathering spot for people with no where go, to put it politely. Just walk through Oppenstein Memorial Park at 12th & Walnut to get an idea of what the p...

Re: OFFICIAL - City Club Apartments (former Midwest Hotel)

Trashy? It is a convenience store, what do you expect? Not everything has to be artisinal, local goods. These are the kind of stores we need to increase walkability/car free livability. Looks like they have more groceries than a QT or CVS. Looks more like a large bodega. I'll be giving this place a...

Re: OFFICIAL - City Club Apartments (former Midwest Hotel)

So this is like a CVS minus the pharmacy? Sure but throw in the soda fountain, slurpee, and rotisserie hotdog machines you'd find at a QT https://www.supermarketnews.com/sites/supermarketnews.com/files/DGxGrabnGoBeverage.jpg.png https://media.bizj.us/view/img/10699109/dgx-store-schmidts-commons-nor...

Re: OFFICIAL - City Club Apartments (former Midwest Hotel)

Just do a quick Google image search for 'DG X'
This concept looks like a QT, a place to pick up junk food. Kinda trashy for the Crossroads and nowhere near an urban Target.
