Re: OFFICIAL - The Continental Apartments (former Mark Twain Tower)
I grew up in the KCAC. Probably started first going down in the late 60s while my dad played handball. We used to get Italian sausage sandwiches at the Red Front on the way home, maybe go to the Wonderland Arcade sometimes. In the 60s and 70s, the majority of the TV All Star wrestlers worked out at...

Re: Kansas City Needs a Proper Christmas Market
I think the combination of Crown Center and Union Station together is unbeatable in getting one into the Christmas Spirit. If an open market like space is required Washington Square Park would be the perfect outdoor setting for that. It's all on the streetcar, connected by indoor walkways and has in...

Based on that info, they moved to hold until Jan 9 meeting but got push back from Jeffery Williams at the City (and a TIF commissioner) for potentially causing issues with financing going into a new calendar year. In a split vote, 4-3, the board voted to hold until Jan 9 instead having on Dec 12 me...

Re: Armory Block Redevelopment at 3620 Main
You can't admit how screwed up this city is. 170 properties changed hands from the river to 51st? So what? And 99.9% of that is house, lot sales and land swaps. There is no real development. The streetcar extension will have more empty lots than occupied lots. The city is ran by idiots, no wonder y...

Random violent crime, drivers that could care less about running people over, no (zero) police presence, KC Tenants, random violent crime, bad drivers, inept City Hall leadership, KC Tenants, random violent crime, no police - anywhere. Wash, rinse, repeat for decades. The city has invested a ton of ...

I would rather we have an NBA team than a hockey team.
The Big 3 are NFL, MLB and NBA.

Bunch basically shot this down in NPD complaining it wasn't the highest and best use of the property (vacant for 40 years), given the 10yr/100% abatement (to the buyers) – teamed up with MPH complaints that site is not blighted & homes will be ~$600K. Advanced with Do Not Pass , tomorrow will b...

Re: KU/KCK <-----> TSC East/West Transit
not true at all the EA reppin the town from both sides of the water. Everybody from the hood tapped in with Kansas, which is basically the Westside of the city if weren't for state lines. WTF is that? You're incoherent. Spending billions to run dedicated transit from KCK to the East side is throwin...

Re: KU/KCK <-----> TSC East/West Transit
KU Med Ctr and VA Hospital are not enough to invest billions in dedicated transit. A stop here is not going to have many patients and workers riders willing to walk 1/2 mile uphill to the buildings. It's an absurd and nonsensical idea. https://maps.app.goo.gl/iXqA4NuZF6m4zZs9A Honestly, this kind of...

Re: KU/KCK <-----> TSC East/West Transit
KU/KCK <-----> TSC East/West Transit is a loser. It would be the worst thing that can possibly happen right now. No one in KCK wants to go to Van Brunt. Nobody on the east side of KCMO wants to go to KCK. Do you people that are for this even live here? There are no amenities or attractions on this r...

51 was a bad flood, so was 93. I remember the entire area from the Kaw to the levees was water. Looked like Lake Michigan. The water was all the way to the top of the levee.

All one need to do to see a real live welfare queen is to hang out in front of Aldis on Paseo for a minute. Their cart will be full of 'shKrimps on sale' and a few cans of Chef-boi-ardee fo da kids.

KCfang you have no shame dusty old false toothed repro.
I'm not talking about disabled or the poor in general. My comment was directed at the worthless leaches that work at KC Tenants who haven't done anything for the poor or disabled.

That was a much better version, why did they abandon Main Street?
Their densest buildings were envisioned along Main.
They obviously decided to make Grand their front.
Is it possible they could still build something narrow along Main?

If I-35 was originally engineered and built correctly decades ago it would not be a big issue. It was built wrong, half of it was built overhead, half of it is at ground level. This was half-assed as most of the loop was. If the entire roadway was built above ground as it should have been, there wou...
