Yeah, I don't get that logic either. You can easily fit an NBA/NHL home schedule into that arena. There's no way they'd turn down an extra round of free cash from a pro-team.

What good is this if it's up at the airport. Who cares if we even get it at that point.

No shot they get their second round (after 2006) of state funding package for a stadium whilst KC can't even get it's first one still.

I've started thinking this as well. I think it'll help. Nobody will want to lose the Royals out of KC if they're actually good. And people know that losing a second vote means the team will move.
