Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)
Anyone else left impressed with the River Market development renderings by the new stadium and wondering what the hell we are doing with the plaza? IMO there easily could be a handful of impressive projects going in over there and yet here we are seemingly wondering if some outside group from Dalla...

Re: T-Mobile Center (formerly Sprint Center)
Yeah, I don't get that logic either. You can easily fit an NBA/NHL home schedule into that arena. There's no way they'd turn down an extra round of free cash from a pro-team.

What good is this if it's up at the airport. Who cares if we even get it at that point.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
This isn't about that-- this is about politics. You can't get the KC area reps to vote to fund that if they're not getting funding yet for multiple stadium projects either. Mayor Q even said something about this last year, that now it's KC's turn to finally get state funding like StL got for theirs ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
This would be the time where I hope NKC/Clay actually comes in and bids for the Chiefs. Now THAT would be golden site. Is it? Is there enough space? Unlike the Royals they will need a lot of parking to keep the tailgate atmosphere I have no clue but I’m sure they can figure it out! Would be a pictu...

https://www.kansascity.com/news/local/article287712165.html "Kansas City Manager Brian Platt said Monday on radio station KCUR that the city is in talks with both teams and will take the lead on future negotiations, displacing Jackson County government from that role. Platt suggested that the ...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I've started thinking this as well. I think it'll help. Nobody will want to lose the Royals out of KC if they're actually good. And people know that losing a second vote means the team will move.

Here's an article detailing what happens when the votes fail for baseball stadiums: https://www.royalsreview.com/2024/4/9/24119857/the-history-of-cities-that-reject-baseball-park-ballot-measures In literally every single case, if the voters screw up and risk losing the team, the city/county/state ju...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I can’t believe people are so stupid they assume the Royals are just “good to go” now. They just denied a pro-team with a lease expiring in 6 years. They think they’re safe now? People are so stupid. Sorry, I just can’t take it.

To me it sounds like the real issue is just the county. I think if they work with city only, and do a real campaign, this will pass.

The Royals will still end up downtown. It’s just going to be delayed now till they can find another workaround.

Re: New Chiefs Stadium
Royals will give downtown another shot. Chiefs to Kansas won't hurt most peoples feelings but I doubt it happens. What?! You will see outrage like you've never seen before if they suggest they're going to leave Arrowhead. It will make the "save the K' group look like pre-school children. The C...
