Re: GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nobody’s gonna give a shit about Kansas sports in 10 years when Royals & Current are downtown and thriving. It was cool in 2008 when they decided to build there but that’s not gonna be the future.

Re: Misc Crossroads News

Wouldn't this be a site that gets torn down if the Royals do a Crossroads stadium?

Best value boost on their would be getting Story over Ellington. Story is great. Ellington is far from it, for our causes.

Re: OFFICIAL - Buck O'Neil Bridge

The one thing I like about the new bridge is that you should have better view of downtown when driving than the old one did. And when the old bridge is removed you can see it all with no barrier.

Re: OFFICIAL - Buck O'Neil Bridge

The poor architecture of the bridge isn’t a huge issue to me compared to the real issue; the partial destruction and further splitting apart of the neighborhood (what little is left of it at least) on the south end of the bridge. I think there was a chance to reconnect a bit of urban fabric, but in...

Re: OFFICIAL - Buck O'Neil Bridge

I'm not sure where they would even get the money for a bridge park with their goal set on reviving Barney Allis by 2026

^I'd faint with happiness if we got the ferris wheel in River Market. That's the type of spot I endorse.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Ironically the best way to get suburban people to get over the fear of the "urban area" is to make them have to go downtown for the Royals and realize it's not that bad.

Re: OFFICIAL - Pennway Point

^the South Loop cap or north loop when closed. I don't know if there'd be weight issues on the cap but that's the type of spot that would be much better suited for a wheel than crammed in the back corner

Re: OFFICIAL - Pennway Point

My only concern with the ferris wheel in this spot is that in the future when we actually have a really great spot for something like this, they won't put a wheel there because "we already have one!" and we'll be stuck with the mediocre spot.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Half of these complainers (or more, probably more) are coming from Kansas. They don't care a thing about KCMO and their only concern is what's best for themselves exclusively. Then there's Jackson County suburbanites -- which I'm sure a good amount do complain, but atleast they respect KCMO the city...

Re: OFFICIAL - Pennway Point

The awesome part about this is the ferris wheel at night as you're going along that highway. Looks so dynamic as you're going by the city. Can prob see it from a good distance away too. The visual is the biggest positive of this project by far.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I hope the Royals money includes money for the streetscape between P&L and the stadium. 10th-12th st. And importantly also on Cherry. If that can be solved then it'll make waiting on any towers or development to be build much easier. I trust the Royals on this that they're gonna do it right. Joh...

That was really cool publicity they showed on TV for the game today. They showed it like 5 times. Also flashed over to DC's watch party.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

That's what I'm asking as well^. Nobody's trying to stir the pot, we're just trying to get clarity on what they plan to do for $2 bil. How much of that is for stadium?

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

It depends what they want $2 bil for. The stadium isn't going to cost that much, so I'm curious what the rest of the money is for. Depending on how much they get will determine the residential situation. I would also add I think the last few comments are too bearish.
