Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

This isn't about that-- this is about politics. You can't get the KC area reps to vote to fund that if they're not getting funding yet for multiple stadium projects either. Mayor Q even said something about this last year, that now it's KC's turn to finally get state funding like StL got for theirs ...

No shot they get their second round (after 2006) of state funding package for a stadium whilst KC can't even get it's first one still.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

This would be the time where I hope NKC/Clay actually comes in and bids for the Chiefs. Now THAT would be golden site. Is it? Is there enough space? Unlike the Royals they will need a lot of parking to keep the tailgate atmosphere I have no clue but I’m sure they can figure it out! Would be a pictu...

I've started thinking this as well. I think it'll help. Nobody will want to lose the Royals out of KC if they're actually good. And people know that losing a second vote means the team will move.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Here's an article detailing what happens when the votes fail for baseball stadiums: https://www.royalsreview.com/2024/4/9/24119857/the-history-of-cities-that-reject-baseball-park-ballot-measures In literally every single case, if the voters screw up and risk losing the team, the city/county/state ju...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I can’t believe people are so stupid they assume the Royals are just “good to go” now. They just denied a pro-team with a lease expiring in 6 years. They think they’re safe now? People are so stupid. Sorry, I just can’t take it.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

To me it sounds like the real issue is just the county. I think if they work with city only, and do a real campaign, this will pass.

The Royals will still end up downtown. It’s just going to be delayed now till they can find another workaround.

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

Royals will give downtown another shot. Chiefs to Kansas won't hurt most peoples feelings but I doubt it happens. What?! You will see outrage like you've never seen before if they suggest they're going to leave Arrowhead. It will make the "save the K' group look like pre-school children. The C...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

Ok DCole but here’s what you’re not getting…if the Chiefs “aren’t going anywhere” then they’re gonna have to do a HELL of alot more than they showed in those renderings. They might need a dome, they will atleast need a whole new exterior. Prob some legit development there too. Kansas will offer all ...

Re: New Chiefs Stadium

The Royals might try again for downtown, but I doubt it. I think they go all in on NKC and will get help from both the local voters and the state to make it happen. Bruh how the hell would they get funding from NKC if they can’t even get it from Jackson. They’d be asking for even *more* of a tax fr...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Yeah I think you've got that backwards How? You think KC voters will sit there really let the Royals go after they just lost the Chiefs? No way I don't think the Chiefs are leaving ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It seems to me that 50%+ of the 'No' vote was literally just people thinking "there's no way they're go...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I just heard from two good sources of mine (who are tied to Kansas matters) that the Chiefs are looking to ink a deal in Kansas. At the Legends complex. My guess? This is what Chiefs wanted all along, hence the half-ass plan they put out, probably hoping it would fail and get them an excuse to get ...
