Re: Westport

The reason why Broadway is so rough is because of the plasma center. Plasma Center is a hotbed for drug activity. If plasma center goes away, the entire area changes overnight. I remember this article from the pitch talking about this area. It's from 2007 so it's clear the problems still haven't go...

Re: Westport

Midtown on Broadway looks ROUGH. The street is absolute shit, the amount of tweakers has increased, at least a dozen businesses windows are boarded up. How is the city allowing this? FWIW I live on Broadway between Armour and 36th and can attest that since I moved in 3 years ago it has definitely d...

Renderings of the 18th & Vine Pedestrian Mall project presented at Council today, which moves our Jazz district and Kansas City toward a more vibrant streetscape. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cq9YFtUOvy9/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Not very vibrant. I don't see how this revamp of the streetscap...

Re: West Bottoms Redevelopment

Could the city use some of the 50Mil in the housing fund money to rehabilitate or offer incentives to create this into all affordable housing or is this location not desirable because of lack of transit?

Re: Westport

Yes, traffic calming at one of the most dangerous intersections in KC. Eventual goal is to use the new space for people! That makes sense & definitely needed. Thanks for the insight, could make for a great little urban park like they have in Times Square or Herald Square, or a spot for food tru...

Does anyone know what the deal is with the blocked off area along Broadway (The Washington St, Broadway 40th St/Terrace Triangle) and They put up a bunch of white bollards that appear to be permanent. Thought it was a bike lane but it’s a huge area that's been blocked off. https://www.flickr.com/pho...

Hey! New to the forum, 1st time poster. I'm originally from Omaha and moved to KC last year, and I've been lurking on the forum since lol. I was back home last weekend, and they had the Grand Opening for the Gene Leahy Mall in downtown, besides all the oohing and aahing, I couldn't help but think ab...
