Re: Bike Lanes

Honest question. How do you bicycle folks get your way so often? I have eyes on our downtown bike lanes often and rarely see them in use. I have seen more use than ever before recently after Grand got done. They got the delineators installed today btw. Whatever tactics you all use to get things don...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

Seriously. Go to Parlor, Mean Mule, Chartreuse Saloon or Paradise Garden Club if that's more your thing. Developments are happening on the east side of the crossroads. Even in and around the area that has been mentioned for the stadium. DCole I think I see where you're coming from and I think it's ...

Oh great another massive suburban development...
Looks right at home in 1980. Great for the Northland, but does the metro really need another sprawling project like this?

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I still don’t see how the Crossroads east of Main, or especially east of Grand, is growing or thriving more than a trickle. All the new developments and energy is happening in the west side. East side is littered with surface lots and no plans to change it. You haven't been to east crossroads and t...

Looks like Canary is closed after a staff walkout. Bummer. This was one of my favorite spots/rooftops in KC

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)

The demographics around the plaza are changing as the original "savers" die off or move away. I imagine by the time the streetcar is running, there will be very few of those folks left and I sense a change in attitude as the population becomes younger. I can see big improvements possible ...

Re: OFFICIAL - Waddell & Reed - 14th & Baltimore

Sometimes I wonder who on this forum has actually impacted any development downtown and who just likes to talk about it? Nothing wrong with either but at the end of the day you've got your talkers and your doers. Many. Really? I don’t get that feeling when discussing certain topics. Could just be i...

Fintech billionaire who made her money with Square/Block. Even moving her son here and looking for schools for him. Seems like it isn't just a PR move. Will be pretty neat to have her connections injecting some more life into the KC startup scene. While it's coming back and there having been some su...

Are they moving on Midland? I pass by it nearly every day and haven’t seen any activity yet. I think Dcole said a Fall start date on physical construction, but he can confirm. I can’t wait. Regardless, I’m hoping the slowness has been the aftershock of Covid and the effects of that. Hopefully as we ...

Re: NFL Draft

Nashville looked like a blast to me. Historic district, big crowds mulling around having fun during every round and showed lots of life for the city. Our location needs some history and show off how we are unique. A twenty year old entertainment district or 50 year stadium doesn’t cut it. This P&am...

Re: NFL Draft

yeah it's easy decision but sounds like a physical problem. Could build the stage over Pershing and the fountain I'd think and avoid the weight problem on the Union Station grounds. I’d love the stage to incorporate the fountain somehow. Wouldn’t it be cool for it to light up a team’s colors as the...

Re: NFL Draft

Please, no! It can’t be Grand, between an arena and common entertainment district. We have to show something different, not something that every other major metro has. That’s why Nashville was so well received…it was different, it spoke to what the city was, it was a marketing of the city. Sure, th...
